We are first time cruisers, who have received our documents. Our room wasn't assigned. I called our travel agent, and she said it will probably first happen later, or when we get to the boat. Later is OK, but at the boat seems a little late to us. We have elderly parents, that will need this information left with them. Anyone else experience not having your cabin assigned until the day you left??? Thanks for any information.

have you gone to the Holland America site and put in any shore excursion information or filled out your immigration form?? Typically, if your room has been assigned the number will pop up in either of these places. You don't actually have to purchase a shore excursion, just act like you are...same with the immigration form...if you have already filled it out, pull it up again, to edit, then submit, and it will take you to the next page, and look in the left hand corner at the top for a room number.

When it asks for a passenger number this is how many passengers are sailing on that booking number. If it is 2 it would be 002, if it is 3, it would be 003, you get the idea.

I hope this helps. When are you sailing? Sometimes it doesn't show up until about 2 weeks before you sail, but give it a try and let us know :).

I have booked guarentee in the past and did not know the cabin number until I arrive at the ship and got my cabin key. It was'nt any big deal as I was willing to take any cabin assigned. important thing was I was on a cruise.

This is why I don't book a guarantee cabin. I like to know where my cabin is. You should be able to find out ahead of time. Some people said if you go in to fill out your immigration form on-line, sometimes your cabins pop up there.

I filled out my immigration forms last week, and didn't notice a cabin number. I will check that again. We booked a quarantee. It isn't a big deal, except for my parents. We leave 8-8-04. My dad called this morning at 6:30 thinking he had to go to the hospital. I have to have it all laid out for them prior to my leaving. If nothing else, I will have my travel agent call prior to our leaving and see if she can get a room number. Thanks for the suggestions. We traveled many many places, and I'm definitely feeling like a "first timer".

Keep checking the immigration form area. It will still be on line up to the day you embark on the ship. The shore excursion form will disappear about 10 days before sailing.

If you don't get your cabin number until you get to the pier, your parents will still be able to get hold of you if anything happens.

Just be certain you give them one of those cards that is in with your documents that lists all the HAL ships and telephone numbers. Circle or write on a separate piece of paper the information, i.e., ship name and telephone number.

The calls go to the front office and they will be able to get in touch with you.
