Which has better ports of call, Eastern or Western Caribbean? I have only been to Nassau and wasn't blown away at the island, though I had a blast on the cruise!

I think it's a toss-up. I know what you mean about Nassau. We've been there twice, and that's plenty!

Eastern is my favorite for ports. We especially love going over to St. Johns from St.Thomas. It is beautiful.
Shopping is better, people are friendlier for the most part too.
More beautiful beaches on the Eastern too, in my opinion. I think there are more excursions with younger kids in mind.
I hate it when I have to pay to use my cam corder in mexican ports. I refuse to do it, so no mives of those places which I think is sad.
Plus we love the extra sea day to relax and enjoy the ship.
On the Western we do love Key West, but we live in Florida, so it doesnt really feel like we went anywhere. I dont dislike the Western, in fact we are going there in 08, but we just prefer the Eastern.
Good luck with your choices.

I would say Western. Probably because it only has 2 sea days, personally I think that 3 sea days(Eastern) is too many; also the islands are better on Western.

We chose Eastern for the kids first cruise(everyone's first DCL) because I have done both and I don't feel the western is as "kid friendly".(western ports have more of a party atmosphere--including people wanting to sell you drugs everywhere). I love the beaches on the eastern. I wanted 3 sea days because I am paying top dollar for Disney not for the ports. That is one less excursion I have to pay for x 8 :)
16 days to go!! My kids have been waiting 2 years for this--we are ready.
