Westerdam May 9 deck plans

The Holland web site has different deck plans listed for before and after May 9. Anyone one know why?

Westerdam is going into drydock and will be altered in the style of her younger sistership, Noordam

The other Vista sisters, Zuiderdam and Oosterdam, will be similarly added to in the following years.

Can you tell me what Deck Plan changes will be made to the Westerdam or it there a web site that would provide this information.

You can compare the deck plans for the pre 5/9 to the post 5/9, or you can compare the Westerdam to rhe Noordams's deck plans. The Westerdam is the first of the "older sisters" to be refit to the Noordam's model. The Oosterdam and Zuiderdam will soon follow. Some of the cabin numbers will change, especially aft as the stern will section will have the most attention. I'm not quite sure of the changes in the public rooms but the cabins will get the flat screen TVs. Pax numbers will increase by approx 200 because of the added cabins.

The wrap-around verandahs on the aft corner cabins will not go away after the older Vistas are retrofitted to be like the Noordam, and they will still be very nice, but they will be smaller than they are now. There have been quite a few threads on this topic over the last four or five months, which you will find if you search.

The wraparound verandahs won't go away, but depending on the deck, they will be shorter from cabin to stern rail.

The area to watch out for on Westerdam, besides the aft cabins, is the cabins on starboard side in the area of the Neptune Lounge. There are 3 inside J cabins being added a little forward of the Neptune Lounge. The doors are in the starboard hallway so they are assigned numbers that are now SA cabins on Starboard side. We're booked in a starboard SA across from Neptune in August. I made sure that the cabin I was specifying was the number that would be assigned after May 9. I remember the fiasco when they first started booking Noordam and people were booking cabins based on other Vista deck plans. That took some doing to get it all straightened out.
