I think we have decide to go with this ship for august to Alaska from Vancouver.
I would like to know about the dress codes are slackes and nice shirts okay for dinner What about dress night now formal must you be Tux for man or would a sport coat do.
Also does anyone know if there is a indoor pool?

The dress code will be formal, (tux suggested, but many men were dark suits) or smart casual, my Dh wears short sleeved dressy silk-like sweaters and dockers, or in colder weather sweaters over collared shirts.
A dark blazer would do, with dress pants and dress shoes. There were tuxes on our Alaska cruise(my DH wore one), but most men wore dark suits.
Women wore everything from gowns to dress pants and glittery tops, or cocktail lenth dresses or skirts.

The pool on the Lido deck has a retractible roof but in Alaska it was mostly kept closed or partially open when it wasn't raining.

Many people disagree with me but I think Alaska has a less formal atmosphere than European or Holiday cruises.

I agree with you - Alaska has a lot less formal atmosphere. My DH has always worn his Tuxedo on Alaskan cruises.

You are going to love taking Zuiderdam to Alaska!

The dining room most evenings is Smart Casual which basically means anything except torn jeans, shorts, or t-shirts. On Formal nights you will see a few tuxes but most gentlemen will be in coat and tie. There will be more ladies in long gowns, but many in party dresses or "little black dress and pearls." Wear what you think looks good, and you will look good!

Check out our trip report and pics, including a pic of our table at formal night:

Have a GREAT cruise!

That's true, but only because people don't follow the code to the same extent. The code's the same.
