Hello,
We will be travelling with our two younger children and wondering if there is a TV Channel available for them?
I also thought of bringing along a cheap DVD player with us and a few of their DVDs. Would this be suitable? Would we be able to connect it to the TV in our room?
Thank you.

Hi Pipa,
The activities arranged on board the ships are much more exciting than TV Channels. I hope the following information from P&O Australia's is helpful.
Children's and Teens Programs
Cruising with P&O Cruises is the perfect escape for all ages. There’s everything from arts and crafts, game tables, movies, and splash pools (on select ships). The children’s activity centres on board cater to children 3 years of age through to teenagers. All Children’s and Teen Centres are fully supervised by our staff of Youth Activities Coordinators. Children 12 months to 2 years can use the children’s centre facilities as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. The younger children are provided with toys, educational games and lots of fun activities, all under supervision. There are also pagers available for the convenience of parents. A deposit is required and refunded at the end of the cruise. You’ll find a full list of activities printed each day in the children’s own daily newsletter.
The cruise staff also provide a large range of activities for teenagers, which is outlined in their own daily newsletter. They have their own facilities that are designed to give them the time of their lives. Night-time supervision is provided until 10pm for all children aged from 3 years to 12 years. Group child minding is available from 10pm to 1am at a nominal charge. Only children who have been toilet trained may be left under night time supervision or group child minding. Please note, private in-cabin babysitting is not available on any P&O Cruises ship.

By the way, I have to admit that although I'm 17 years of age, I don't feel to old to participate in the programs. They're heaps fun, I'm sure you and your family will have a great time!

I'm actually 18 in June so I'm '17.10', haha. I'm going on the Star this weekend (21 April) to Queensland. I'm really looking forward to it. I took my first cruise on the Sky in October 2005 to Queensland and I really enjoyed it. My recent cruise was taken on the Sun in October 2006 to Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
Might I just add that I really preferred the Sky to the Sun.

Yeah, im turning 18 in september. Doing a cruise for it with friends again :D
I also did the same cruise that you are doing. Trust me, you will have heaps of fun. The whitsundays are great and being able to just hop off and on the ship in cairns is a pretty cool novelty.

No, you won't be able to connect a DVD player (or video camera, or any other auxillary appliance) to the the in cabin tvs.
I don't think there was a kids channel on the in-cabin TV program, but I'm not 100% sure.

I know, as I mentioned I did the Queensland cruise on the Sky in October 2005. I really enjoyed it. It is so much better than the Vanuatu/New Caledonia islands ;)
