HI-

I am new to this board and I must say some great info here... Alot to learn when it comes to cruising!!!!

My wife and kids and myself are due to be aboard the September 19th/ 4 night cruise and am wondering if there are any recomendations for hotels in the canaveral area? Reasonable ones?

We are contimplating flying down Sunday morning but we might just fly down Saturday afternoon to avoid any thing going wrong? And of course staying overnight at a hotel... Can anyone recomend any good ones? We will also be renting a car so that way I can get my money worth instead of renting it at the airport and driving it 45 minutes and droping it off... This way we can go for a drive before the cruise on saturday if we wish....

I just can't see paying $50.oo a person on the bus trip especialy for kids? I never seen anything charge full price for a child anywhere? To me thats outrageous? But hey thats just my opinion?

Any rate thanks for the info!

Spankey;)

Hi Spankey. I haven't been yet, but I've been researching this issue too for our 9/05 Disney Cruise. I have found a wealth of information on the disboards.com. Just go to the Disney Cruise Line forum there and you will find tons of info!

Everyone there seems to suggest the Radisson, which has a shuttle to the port the next day. Or if you want beachfront, Ron Jon's.

Thanks for the info.. Yep a friend suggested the radison. My wife went online and it stated a room at AAA discount at $125.00 a night. Guess that isn't to bad seeing how its right there and shuttles you to the port...

Now for transportation to the hotel from the plane?? Guess rental car is the cheapest... Anyone ever take a taxi? Expensive????

Thanks
Spankey:rolleyes:

Another option is getting a hotel near the Orlando airport via Priceline (typically $28 to $33 for the highest star level). If you don't want to bother with a car, you can take the free hotel shuttle and then get a towncar. Personally, we use Happy Limo (they have a coupon rate), and it is cheaper than the Disney buses for more than two people. For rental cars, I've found the best one-way rates booking Budget via Hotwire.

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn a little farther (maybe 1 miles) down the beach - actually on the beach - and it includes breakfast. The Radisson told me they don't include breakfast. We have stayed at the Hampton twice. Once was a Nov. cruise and the rate was $49/nt. The other was a June cruise at $89. they also will allow you to park your car on property for free and have shuttle service to the port which we have used once. The second time we had 4 families and parked three cars at the hotel and one at the port - this was cheaper to split between the families than to take the shuttle. Just wanted to give you the info for cheaper. By the way - the Hampton was very clean. The pool is fine - utilitarian where Radisson's is landscaped really well.
