we park at port imperial/weehawken ferry terminal and ferry across...then they have a FREE bus that will take you to the pier....:)

What part of NJ are you coming from? Personally, I could not imagine hauling luggage to get to a ferry, getting it on the ferry then dragging it off a ferry, then getting on a shuttle (even if it is free). Sounds like you would be exahusted before you ever get on the ship. A taxi from NJ is expensive--we are only 17 miles west of NY and they want $240 round trip. So we are just going to drive--from what I hear it's not all that bad; perhaps some traffic getting through the tunnel but from NJ you are already on the west side; we just decided it ws more convenient to throw the bags in the car; leave when we want and even if there is traffic there will be plenty of time; and the parking we hear is realtively simple--$180 for the 9 days we need--that's cheaper than the cab; and more convenient. Also, when you return just get in your car and go and not have to wait for taxis or shuttles.
