Lots of gambling and eating... Lots of ports... These are beautiful ships as well... You have to get rates from your travel agent... Let me know if you want a referral...

No gambling on the ship - Mississippi Queen - I just was on last week. Very relaxing, slow paced vacation. Wonderful ports, great entertainment, superb food and service.
If you need a slower vacation - check this out. Older crowd - lots of fun

Is there ever any discounting on the prices or do they stay the same as when the cruise first goes on sale?

They do run two for one offers on some cruises. Check the website. We have done the American Queen from Pittsburgh to Memphis and enjoyed it a great deal. We found the food to be very good, especially at supper. It is a different kind of vacation - slow and very relaxing (bring some good books). The crowd does tend to be older (we went in late July and there were only about 4 children on board). I would do it again.
