Can anyone tell me how the transfers are from Orland to Port Canaveral?
How long does it take? Does it take a long time for them to fill a bus? Any other suggestions on getting to the pier from Orlando? Thanks

Karen,
I'm also in need of a transfer from the Orlando Airport to the port in December. I went to the airport website and found a list of shuttle operators. I called a few. Some of them pick you up at the airport and some will pick you up at your nearby hotel with advance notice.
Are you flying in the day before?

iF YOU USE hal TRANSFERS, THEY ONLY PICK UP AT THE AIRPORT ON THE DAY OF SAILING. tHEY WILL GO TO DIFFERENT CONCOURSES ACCORDING TO HOW MANY PAX THEY HAVE TO PICK UP. iT CAN TAKE ANYTHING UP TO A HALF HOUR OR MORE TO GET A FULL BUS. iT TAKES ANYWHERE FROM 45 MINS. TO AN HOUR TO GET TO THE PORT DEPENDING ON TRAFFIC. iF YOU ARE STAYING A PRE NIGHT IN ORLANDO, ITS BEST TO MAKE YOUR OWN ARRANGEMENTS. THERE ARE MANY COMPANIES THAT WILL PICK YOU UP AT YOUR HOTEL AND BRING YOU BACK TO THE AIRPORT AFTER THE CRUISE IS OVER. I HAVE USED ALPHAOMEGATRANSPORTATION.COM, THEY WERE GOOD AND COST $30 ROUND TRIP....JEAN
PS, just noticed I typed in caps, please excuse me

You can try any of the town car services, happylimo.com and others. The cheapest is probably to rent a car one way. Hertz and probaly the others as well do not charge extra for a different drop off point going to Port Canaveral. Rent the car, drop everyone and the luggage off at the port, then one person drive and turn the car in and take the ****tle with no luggage. Then same thing upon return. Send one to pick the car up via the ****tle, and return to load everyone and their bags into the car for the return to MCO.
It isn't a long drive....an hour maybe??

We just booked a local shuttle service for my hubby and I for our Nov/Dec cruise. You can check out thier pricing at www.artsshuttle.com or call 800-567-5099. Art's will pick you up at the Orlando airport and transport you to the Port Canaveral dock or hotel (1-3 persons $55), transport you from hotel to dock ($3pp), and post-cruise will pick you up at dock and transport you back to Orlando (1-3 persons $55).
We are staying at a hotel that has many dining options within walking distance, and it is one of the very few hotels that are open since the Hurricane(s).

Our family travels to WDW frequently, and we have also embarked on a couple of cruises from Port Canaveral. There are a ton of options available to you, since the Orlando area is such a vacation destination. Our preference is to arrange for a town car transfer. Two I can recommend are Tiffany Town Car and Murray Hill Transportation. Both will provide a free 15 minute grocery stop, if you want to pick up last minute items before you head to the ship/hotel.

We used Hal's transfers from the airport and it is as Elmorejj states. It went very smooth. We arrived at the port at about noon and got unto the ship about a half hour later. The main annoyance was the bus driver who tried entertain us, I would rather he tell us something about the area or the ship, we could have done without the music and jokes. Of course you had to tip him. I can never understand that, it was his job to drive us to the port, I have never tipped our local bus drivers when we used the services, why him?
sorry got off track there, I guess it sounds like I didn't like using the Hal's transfer system, I do and will again on our next cruise.
