I am looking at flights for our September trip. As we are flying cross country I am try to make flights direct as possible. Oosterdam is supposed to dock at 7am, what is the earliest flight any of you have booked....and more importantly...actually made. I've got two options from one airline, one is a 110pm departure which sounds a bit to close for me, the other is 10pm redeye. Otherwise I could stay over and fly out Sunday morning. Those of you that have sailed out of Seattle, what have you done?

My suggestion would be to stay overnight and fly out on Sunday. You can get a decent $100 or less room in Seattle and have a nice day after you check in doing a little sight seeing. Enjoy your cruise and Seattle.

We always fly out the day after a cruise so that we can get the early morning flight home. We don't have any direct flights anymore to Seattle (from Pittsburgh) so we know it is going to be a long day with a lay-over involved.[/B]

Same here. We're overnighting at an airport hotel and taking the 6:15 am flight out the next morning.....

We have stayed several times at the Airport Hilton - very handy to use their shuttle in the morning to get to the airport.

We got off Westerdam on Sunday morning Sept. 24th, rented a car and flew home from Portland Oregon on Wednesday. It's a little over a 3 hour drive and we got to see Mt. St. Helens and the Columbia River Gorge. It was a beutiful side trip. I liked the airport in Portland much better than the one in Seattle.

My two cents.

If I'm reading your post correctly, your departure time is 1:10 pm in the afternoon, is that right? Oosterdam gets in on Saturday morning, yes? As a citizen of the State of Washington, I can give you my official residential sanction to making this connection out of SeaTac airport. You can do it, and furthermore, I would attempt it myself! There, does that help?:)

Frank, that 1:10 flight should be no problem and I would definitely do it. I think our flight out for June is at 12:45. Maybe I am being a risk taker but at least it is at the end of the cruise not the beginning. We are flying in the day before. I want to make sure I don't miss the ship ;)
