Last weekend we were privileged to see the current stage production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The lead singer (Joseph) was Adam Ryan Tackett, who was incredible. Imagine my surprise when DH pointed out the credits in the playbill. Mr. Tackett listed Holland America, along with some other amazing productions!

I think it's fantastic that HAL draws the kind of talent that goes on to great things! Anyone else run into a former HAL entertainer?

Not yet. But that is great that some of HAL's cast members do go on with their singing and acting careers.

Thanks for posting this. It's nice to see how well a former HAL entertainer is doing.

That's great to hear. Young entertainers do need experience to grow as artists, I would imagine entertaining on HAL would be a terrific "training ground" for a talented entertainer.

I have worked with MANY wonderful actors/singers/dancers that have worked various cruise lines. It's a wonderful starting point for young people to break into the biz. It's non-union but you get great experience and get to travel. As you are not employed by the cruise line, but an outside production company, you get a bit more freedom to really enjoy the ship, travel and passengers.

Of all the entertainers that I have watched and met on board, I've often wondered if any had made it big.
