I will be sailing on the Veendam out of Tampa in November this year. Has anyone been on any tours that they would recommend that we take?
If so please help. I belive we go to 9 ports and from the e-brochure that HAL has it is hard to tell which ones are worth the money.
Any help you can give us would be appreciated.

Itineraries on most ships differ, even to the same area. It would help if you asked about specific ports and tours since you've seen what's available on the HAL website.

DW and I did this cruise in February. We did independent tours in Dominica and Grenada. In Dominica we toured with Beno. We have used him twice, his tours are not rushed. Meet him outside the dock at 8:30AM and got back at 2PM. Also we stopped at Mr Nice's Fruit Stand. Sampled banana's, grapefruit, pinneapple and his homemade "Almond Joy".
In Grenada we toured with Mandoo. His tour was the best of any that we have been on. The man is a terrific ambassador for Grenada. His price was very reasonable. We toured a spice plantation, rain forest, waterfalls and a wonderful island tour. On the way back to the ship he offered to take us to the beach for an hour. We met him in the terminal at 8:45AM and returned at 1:45PM.
I would recommend both of these gentleman. Check out the "Destinations" section for reviews.
When we where in Grenada the officals would stamp your passport. It was the first window on the right as you enter the terminal.
Enjoy your cruise.

I'm really leaning towards the ships tours, because the people I am going with are afraid that they won't get back to the ship on time or something will happen. So I'm having to be careful. More than I would be on my own. So with that said, has anyone been on any of the ships tours?
I myself have been checking our the ports section and there are a lot of very happy people out there.
I could not find anything for El Guamache, Isla de Margarita, Venezuela. I guess because not many ships go there.
Please keep coming with the wonderful recommendations.
