Hi,
I am sure this has been asked and answered more then once, but this will save me trying to read through every thread. First of all I know that on the Sun there are washing machines, but do they still offer the bag of laundry specials like they do on the Star?
Also has anyone recently taken a cruise on the Sun where they had 3 children and 2 adults in one room? What is the bed configuration like? Just curious as to space that is all.

Hi
We just got off the sun and I think it was day 5 they had a wash, dry and press 20 items for $25.

I'm curious. Are you cruising with 3 kids in your room? We did last year but this was supposedly stopped for safety purposes( although personally I believe it was for revenue purposes).

As Karen said, I was under the impression that P&O dont have a fifth rollaway bed anymore unless you are in a suite.
heres a photo of our pacific sun cabin with the rollaway bed down. http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1462924006075364937TjmkXi During the day it was folded up and put out of the way.

I spoke to a customer at work a few months ago who was planning on cruising on the Dawn early '08 & she said she was told by her TA that they could have 5 in a cabin.

Possible the TA was just going by old info and didn't bother checking though?

That rule was supposedly brought in in Oct '05 (before we cruised) but because we had already booked & paid for the cruise they had to let us do it. That's what makes me think it's for revenue reasons. If it was safety reasons, it would have been effective immediately.

I am not sure if it makes a difference but one child is 2.5 and I believe they are setting up a cot for her. Will have to check on that one. I know when we were on the Star we were in a Suite and were told we could take her, then when we queried another cruise they told us no, and now they have said it is fine. So not sure what is going on. I actually sent the TA the photo of the beds from your link and he also said they stopped doing that a while ago, but he said the little one was booked in and we were 5 in a cabin.
Now off to find the post Kaz for the roll call...

Right up until after Easter when my other half finished his contract, P&O were still doing 5th berths..he assumes nothing has changed...
Kaz
So was that on the Star too Kaz? Because even when they advertised a 5th berth it was only on the Sun (and it had to be for a child under 12)

The fact that your child is under 3 and using a cot not a rollaway may make a difference. But as Kaz said, as far as Chris knew, they were still allowing a rollaway for a 5th berth anyway:confused: . We made a point of booking with a family of one child this time so our daughter could share with them (it is her best friend) because as far as we were concerned 3 kids weren't allowed. Will have to check with TA when I make another payment next week.
At least we'll have more room woth only 4 of us in it.
