Just checked the web cam and it has arrived.
The best part my husband and I and four of our close friends will be sailing today. 11 fabulous days. We are repositioning and then sailing Alaska.
The weather here in San Diego is warm and sunny, a perfect way to start our cruise.
Since we live here, easy shuttle ride to the Cruise terminal. Looks like we have the main terminal and doesn't appear there are any other ships in port.
We had a very small Roll call for this cruise. No one seemed to want to do a get together. I am great at organizing but have had a tough work schedule and was hoping someone would step up.
There is our third Hal cruise (last ones about four years ago.) We had been cruising Celebrity recently and loved that experience.
I never compare cruises because each one is special and we always have a good time.
Always try to pack all in one suitcase but with the weight limits flying back, had to resort to two bags each(those heavy clothes do take up lots of room .
Enough of my rambling. I will report back in once I return.
Regards,
San Diego Sue:D

Congrats!! Enjoy your time on the Zuiderdam - she's a wonderful ship, and one I'd certainly spend the next 11 days on!

Have a wonderful cruise, looks like your weather will be great. As Lisa said, to bad we didn't know about your cruise earlier, you guys could have done the 3 pm wave. Just in case, I will try to watch at 3 pm to see if you got these messages but didn't have time to post back.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your kind response.
I would have loved to do the wave. We are meeting four other friends on board and it may be difficult to coordinate with them to do it.
We will probably do the Mexico cruise next on the Oosterdam(didn't book yet)
but am looking forward to do the traditional wave then.
I loved seeing the wave on Saturdays. I work on Saturday but always made sure I was watching the wave.
Lisa I have really appreciated how you have kept it alive for everyone.
Also all your postings, so very interesting.
I seldom post but am on Cruise Critics every day. This is our 30th cruise but
I am still picking up the best information.
Regards,
San Diego Sue:D

Sue, Thank You:o :)

I do truly love doing the Wave and being the Oosterdam Head Cheerleader:D

Life is all about what you make of it and Tom and I love cruising so all of this has become a full time hobby. They tell me at work that I instantly start to grin and my whole attitude changes when someone asks me about cruising.

I hope you have a wonderful cruise, I think the Zuiderdam is also a beautiful ship ( she was my first HAL ship)

We will definitely catch you doing a Wave for when you do cruise on the Oosterdam.

Bon Voyage!!!!
