celebrity tours charges 25 pp for shuttle and admission...has anyone done this on their own, was it less expensive? taxi over and pay entrance fee...in the evening? there are 4 of us so the taxi would be shared...

About 100-110 Kroner each it is about 14-15 US Dollars.
79 kroner in entrance and about 100 kroner (100/4=25) for the taxi.

thank you for this info...so about 100 kronen each way for the taxi..so that is 200...so that would be 50 kronen pp since there are 4 of us........about 10pp and admission is about 10 pp....the ship charges 25 us pp...for shuttle both ways and admission...seems the easiest way to go...maybe spending 5 bucks for the convenience..seems worth it and dont have to worry about getting back to the ship...but of course sometimes the adventure of doing something on your own is fun as well...

Sorry it was 100 one way for the taxi.
Or maybe take the bus number 26 that goes from Langeliniekaj to the Central Station just opposite Tivoli, or walk to Østerport Station and take S-train, Regional trains or the Øresund train.
The price is just 19 kroner one way for one person.
Or buy a 2 zone stamping card at the tourist office for 120 kroner and stamp it 4 times the way to tivoli and also 4 times back to the ship.
Celebrity ships are normaly docked at the Langeliniekaj but if your ship is docked at Freeport (Orientkaj or Kronløbsbassinet) just let me know and i will find another route to tivoli, the ticket priceis however the same.

you are very kind...thank you...
but the cruise ship charges 25 pp...so to save 5/10 dollars is really not worth the effort...
but thank you again....

Have you checked to see how long the cruise line actually gives you at Tivoli?
It's not a place you want to be rushed through in a herd as is usually the way ships' shorexes operate.
You'll enjoy it much more if you can saunter around at your own pace, stopping where you want to stop, eating where you want to eat, seeing what you want to see etc., not spending part of your limited time there waiting for other people on your tour to use the washroom.
Also, when you DIY, you can leave the ship at whatever time is most convenient for you, not sit around waiting for the tour's departure time.
Tivoli is so easy to go on your own, I'd definitely follow "Danish Viking's"advice.
IMHO, shorexes are only worth taking when the destination is too distant, difficult to reach or dangerous to DIY. Even if the price is comparable (as you're indicating in this case - I haven't done the calculation), DIY is preferable.

I think you are right...the taxi does not come to the ship...so we have to use the ships shuttle anyway to get into town...from there you can walk to the tivoli...we have done it before..and then just get into on your own...
two years ago the ships shuttle was free, now it is 10pp....so I think that is what we will do instead of the ships package...you are absolutely right about having your own timetable instead of the ships ...
I am not sure about taxis coming right to the pier...need to check that out...thanks luvnorway....and danish viking....

Danish Viking,
We will be on the NCL Dream in July. Does it also berth at Langelinie? When taking public transport can one buy tickets on the bus or is there a kiosk at the port to buy them? Is exact change required? Thank you so much for your help!

It will also dock at Langelinie and you buy the ticket at the tourist office at the pier and i think they accept all major currencys.
