ALASKA-How is the beginning of June?Excursions that are a must see?

I would like to know if anyone has sailed in June? And if you have sailed before to Alaska,how was the weather? The Ocean and Gulf of Alaska?There will be 13 of us going,and we are all, truly excited. We have decided to take the Inside Passage and are there any excursions that are on top of your list? Did anyone take an excursion that was not with HAL and would highly recommend them? The CC Gang have always been right up front and have made our cruise experience absolutely a top-notch vacation. You are the greatest!!!!!! Thank you, Thank you, thank you.

We sailed as a group of 60 on the Oosterdam to Alaska in mid June this year. It was a very memorable trip. The weather was beautiful- warm and sunny most days sometimes a bit windy. The excursions we enjoyed most were the Ketchikan Duck Tour, and the Seaotter and Wildlife Quest in Sitka. We are already discussing going on another trip to Alaska. What an awesome trip!!

One of our Alaskan cruises was the second week in June. Dressed in layers. Weather was typical Alaska - some days warm, some days wet.

In Juneau - whale watching with Captain Larry (not ship's tour) or helicopter tour of glaciers. Mendenhall Glacier is great. If time permits - a drink in the Red Dog Saloon - around 2 is the best time - everyone becomes a part of the show.

In Skagway - the White Pass Railway - did it twice - beautiful scenery. Another good place for a drink - Red Onion Saloon.

Ketchikan - Totem Bight and Saxman Village, there's a lumberjack show, walk along Creek Street and see Dolly's house - good shopping here.

Sitka - if you didn't go whale watching in Juneau, try the Sea Otter and Wildlife tour here - did it twice - loved it.

Once you have been to Alaska, you will want to go again. You just can't see everything in one visit.
