Purely personal opinion here, but I wouldn't want to go to the time/expense/hassle of flying from the Western Hemisphere for only 7 days in the Med! Last year, I did a 17-night Med/TA on Princess that started in Barcelona, went to Marseille, Genoa, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Lisbon, the Azores and then across to Ft. Lauderdale and ended in Galveston, so that might be the same number of ports, but the pre-cruise days in Barcelona and the sea days after made it seem like a real vacation! If you could add some land-time to sea-time, that might be OK. Of course, some say "any cruise better than none".

I think you would find that most people on the "7 day" were actually doing the 24 day transatlantic/med cruise. We did an Tampa to Venice last month and a large number of people were staying on for the next 10 days.

I agree - if you are going to all that trouble and expense to get to Europe, why only a 7 day cruise? We won;t even do a 7 day cruise in the Caribbean or anywhere else for that matter.

I saw that. If it is during someone's children's school vacation etc., than it would make sence as one could add a few pre-cruise days and make it into a 10 day vacation. Remember, there are still those who have children and/or are still working and can only get off so may days at a time. It could be an additional vacation idea for someone with time contraints.

I would add on land days to the cruise, possibly pre-cruise in Tuscany, post cruise in Rome....
Might be cheaper to just do an entire land based tour!!! However, the ports sound interesting...
