Ine,

Do you by chance know of any shuttle companies that are actually based in the Hoopddorf area? We have just found that our motel does not shuttle to the airport prior to 0600. We have to be at the airport by 0530. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nancy

Donot know what hotel you will be in in Hoofddorp..
I suggest to take a cab either all the way to the airport (it is just a few miles, so I guess fare will be around Eur. 15.-/ Eur. 20.- max. - check with your hotel ) or take a cab to the trainstation of Hoofddorp and a train to Schiphol airport.
If on a sunday trains run less, 1st train leaves at 05.36 arr. at 05.41
On weekdays and saturdays 1st train at 05.33 arr. 05.39.
OW 2nd class Eur.2.10 p.p. Trains will not be full, no problem with your lugagge. You will have to put it on and from the train yourself however and always keep an eye on it.

Maybe you can check with your airline how strict check-in times are and/or if you can print out your boardingpass at the hotel or use the machine check-ins at the airport to save time.

Ine,

Thanks for your reply. We are at the Courtyard Mariott which is about 15 minutes from the airport and 3 km from the train station. I didn't think about checking in at the Hotel that morning. That is a great idea. I will see if this is available. The only concern that I have with a taxi is that the size of the party is going to require a van. Are those easily found or do we have to look at a specific company?

Thanks again,
Nancy

Depending what airline you fly, there are also many self checkin machines (KLM, Northwest etc.).
I am sure the reception desk in your hotel will assist you or phone to a local cabcompany (maybe already the night before) to pick you up that early.

Since Courtyard is rather far from the station, better take a cab directly to Schiphol airport.

After thinking this over, to avoid those cabfees and early departure, why donot you look around for a different airporthotel.
Try Hilton and/or Sheraton, both directly at the airport, so you willnot need a shuttle but can walk a few minutes to the terminal.....
