Can anyone answer a few questions...

1. Has anyone eaten at the Pinnacle? Are there any 1/2 price seatings?

2. Does HAL allow you to bring wine on board. I hear some lines allow you to bring two bottles in your carry on.

3. I heard someone mention a HAL 'wine punch card' that was purchased on shore?? Buy 8 glasses for the price of 5 or something like that? Where was this purchased? Price?

Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time!!

Yes, I have eaten at the Pinnacle Grill. No, there are no longer any 1/2 price seatings. Dinner is $30 per person, lunch is $15 per person.

2. Does HAL allow you to bring wine on board. I hear some lines allow you to bring two bottles in your carry on.

Yes, HAL allows you to bring wine onboard; there is no limit. There is a $15 per bottle corkage fee if you consume your wine in the restaurants.

You are welcome. Anything else?:)

C.

Thanks for posting the links to the PG menus -- yum!

What are the hours for lunch and dinner? Or does it vary by day?

At the PG can you order more then 1 item from the menu. For example can you order 2 entrees? 2 starters or two deserts???

It's my understanding that you may order more than one side dish, but you may order only one entree. (Believe me, that's sufficient).
I don't know if may order more than one dessert, but you may not have room for even the one. ;)

Would you ask this of a land-based restaurant?

The more pax who board cruises with expectations of "all you can eat" , the greater the liklihood that quality of the food product will diminish, over time.

In my experience, the Pinnacle Grill is open for dinner from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Lunch is served in the Pinnacle Grill on non-port days, either from 12 noon to 1 pm, or 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. The hours will be posted in your Daily Program.

On the Veendam in Dec it was open 1 sea day, one semi-sea day (i.e., ETA arrival 11:00a), and two port days. It was closed on our 2nd sea day, coming home. OP: ask the manager about the schedule early in the week if you want to go there for lunch. :)

My understanding is that Veendam closes the PG on the last sea day to accommodate the “Suites Brunch / Lunch” that is served in the Crow’s nest ( as it is served by the PG waiters)
