We WILL Be Doing a Banner Wave this Afternoon in Seattle from the Oosterdam

The second ever Seattle Banner Wave will be occuring in about an hour on the Oosterdam in Sunny Seattle. We have a large very excited CC Roll Call that is boarding the Oosterdam today and midgecruise aka Wendy has graciously volunteered to be our Offcial Photographer of the great occasion. I too will be on hand via the telephone and will conduct and 3 way call:D

As soon as Wendy gets back home she will upload these photos for us. Now we we just had a good inside connection to Princess and could get them to move their Bow Web cam to face the Oosterdam:rolleyes: ;)

I will be on the phone with CC member Jackkip aka Jackie and possibly even Oceanfantasys aka Rhonda and Wendy.

I'll be watching! So the banner flies again in Seattle...cool! That banner is really getting around.

I see at the moment, the Golden Princess has aimed their cam toward the city. Is there a hope that Princess might possibly guide their cam toward our favorite ship around 2:30?????

If you pull THAT off, Lisa, HAL should call you and offer you that upgrade you want on the Noordam!!!! You'll deserve it!!

We just had a fabulous Banner WAVE:D It was so much fun. I of course had on my bluetooth but I out us on a 3 way call and had Wendy and Jackie on the ohone and I also said "HI" to Rhonda. They had 8 of them out there with the Banner and waving to Wendy.

The only thing I missed (but you hear at 3PM) is the ship's horn and the annoucement chimes:( I love hearing those when I talk to the people on the ship:)

In the past couple of weeks they turn their camera about 2 or 3 minutes before 4 to face foreward as they back out. Last Week because the Oosterdam left first we could watch her pull away from the pier and leave.

Now tomorrow on the Sun they will most likely have it facing the Noordam all day.

Would you believe in the middle of all this I am at work:eek: I am finishing out month end close out plus looking at Saturday Sales. I had to close my office door during our 3 way Wave call;) But I still got interrupted. I actually have been hard at work since 8:30 this morning and about have my my May car loans completed. Just 2 more to complete today and I will have finished my month end out in record time. Now the bad part is we are having one of those crazy circus sales starting on the 11th and I will be swamped before I leave and the sale is the the 16th and I don't think they know I will not be here at that day;) Trust me I will more than need the cruise and several drinks in 2 weeks from right:D

Yes, they are doing the same exact thing as last time from the same crazy Marketing company that does bring in loads of people to buys cars and yes they do look at what I have submitted for my vacation time but their comment this time was I did such a fantastic job cleaning up the last sale when I returned they figured I could do it again.:eek: The last time was the the worst return I have ever had and trust me I suffered big time. I was so stressed before we left and I am sure it will be a repeat performance. :(

The Golden's web cam changed just as I caught the aft end of the Oosterdam leaving. So again the Oosterdam has left before the Golden. With an ON TIME departure:)

Teri, you are Welcome, I know many think we are either NUTS or very pathetic but Hey it is a lot of fun and I know from being on the Banner Wave side that it really is a lot of fun and a great way to start off a cruise. It is also a good time to finally put a face to the person you have been chatting with on your Roll Call. I just think it is Great that cruznon aka Peggy made the Banner for us and that Mr. Deering keeps the Banner for us in his office. Hey, I like being "nuts":p . I also think the Oosterdam Saturday banner wave is not only fun but look how many more people I have met in my life because I take some time out of my day to take some pictures! And, look how many people you get to meet on the ship because the wave brings people together. Like Lisa said, you get to meet the people on your roll call that you have been chatting with for months. And, you will continue to run into these same people during the cruise....nothing like having friends on board to enhance your cruising experience. One of the main reasons that we like to cruise is all the great fun people we meet on board. HAL attracts a great group!!

Thank you to Lisa for coordinating another fun Saturday WAVE and your welcome but I don't need thanks for doing this. I enjoy it as much as you;) . Oh, I hate grocery shopping to and I'm also out the door to take care of that nasty little chore :rolleyes: .

Bravo Wendy--wonderful photos!!! Thanks so much for doing this. It's a great to see the banner hanging and then a special thrill for me to see everyone signing the back. When I first had the idea to back the banner for all CCers to sign, I didn't realize how much fun it would be to see it signed again and again.

Just told my DH that I need to sail on the Oosterdam again, to check out the signatures;)

Lisa, as usual, FANTASTIC banner coordination. So glad you do this. This has turned into quite an event. Please send along my thanks to Mr. Deering for his assistance with the WAVE. Hope I can do this in person someday.

And, NO, we aren't nuts (though some might think we are) but we all are addicted to sailing....and a Sat afternoon "fix" of watching others sailaway just makes us smile!

Thank you so much for doing everything for the Wave. It was so much fun. I can't wait until the M&G tomorrow. We didn't have as many show up for the wave because some had already started traveling when we decided to do this. I will take some pix tomorrow and try to send them. But the connection the ship is not the fastest. Thanks again for getting my cruise off to a great start.

I am sure you will take very good care of it.:) What is funny is that it feels like home and we have watched the plant over on the desk area grow beatuifully since the first time we were in the cabin in October 2005. Yes, it has been the same plant and has gotten larger each time we returned. I am sure you are getting excited since now it is less than 2 weeks:D

Wow Lisa and Wendy, GREAT JOB !! I so much enjoy the waves and can't wait for the next one. The first thing Jim said while we were on our balcony was that we need to sell our home and move to Alaska. I asked him why. He said "because it is so beautiful." He then said we need to get down to see the cruise consultant to book another cruise. We did and will be sailing on the Oosterdam next year to?????? You guessed it, ALASKA !

Mr. Deering was just awesome. He sent us wine to our room. He invited us to his cocktail party and even sat with us during the party. Lisa I told him you said hello. He sure remembers you. The cruise consultant sat with us and the port shopping lady also. We had so much fun at the party. We were some of the last to leave. I have pictures of them and will upload later.

The food and service was great as usual. The beds were heaven. We enjoyed our cruise tremendously. :) :p ;) :)
