We are making our first visit to Bermuda this summer on the NCL majesty. We will be docked in St George's for 3 1/2 days and I am trying to figure out our plans. I have perused a bunch of threads here but still am unsure and open for suggestions.

Given we have the 3 1/2 days docked in St Georges, we are definitely open for exploring the island one or two days. Kind of figured we would get transportation passes and venture out for a few days - but I also don't want to spend all our time on busses / ferries. So others who have done this cruise, what was the most efficient plan you had for seeing other parts of the island.

In particular - figured we would spend a day and a half in St Georges - at Tobacco Bay and the Tues Night street festival

On other days - would it make sense to go to Horseshoe Bay? John Smith's Bay / Beach? What about going to Hamilton for the Wed Night Street festival? Does it make sense to do so (if we also go to the St George's one). How is transportation back from Hamilton late at night?

What else should we consider?

Thanks for your ideas

Hey berryberry, we're going on the Majesty on July 1st, when are you going?? We have no idea what to do there besides eat and go to the beach!! We have a 4 year old and a 2 year old, so we're trying to figure out the best thing for them. I think we're going to the aquarium there as well!!

Tuesday night street festival? That sounds great. Do they have it every Tuesday or just when you'll be there?

Every Tuesday night in St George and on Wednesday evening in Hamilton. I think it runs through the end of September, possibly into early October.

The one in St George ends in early Sept. but the one in Hamilton ends sometime around the middle of October.

Makes sense, Hamilton is the larger one. Thanks for the info.

As far as efficiency in planning your days, a couple of tips:

Pay attention to the weather forecasts and plan your beach days for the best looking days. Do not rely on the weather posted at the ships reception desk. We have found this to be extremely inaccurate (I think they keep the same sign up there for every cruise). If you have an internet account on the ship, check out www.weather.bm (http://www.weather.bm/) . They also have the weather posted at the tourist kiosk in King’s Square. Not knowing exactly what the arrival weather is going to be, we plan our St. George beach on the first day. If the weather turns sour, we have a short jaunt back to the ship.

Both Horseshoe Bay and John Smith’s bay are excellent beaches in their own way. We usually work our days from west to east, so at the end of our excursion we are closer to St. George. If we go to Horseshoe, we’ll spend time in Hamilton on the way back. We hit the Swizzle Inn on the way back from John Smith’s. :D

Thanks for the info.

Sounds like good advice. So right now I am leaning towards days as follows (order could be changed)

1. St Georges - Tobacco Bay and local exploring + Tues Night Festival
2. Early AM ferry to Hamilton / bus to Horshoe Bay - then spend some time in Hamilton on the return trip (probably take the bus back)
3. Maybe Crystal Caves / John Smith's Bay / Swizzle Inn

plus one night Dining Ashore now that its confirmed the NCL dine ashore program is back
