Hi:

I am still trying to get the folks on my roll call to participate in a banner wave on the Oosterdam on August 4th, but to date, I have not had any response to my request. Hopefully, others will read this thread and meet for the wave. Will someone please give me information on how to get the banner and when and where to go for the wave.

Thanks & regards,

Thanks Lisa. I knew that I would hear from you. And maybe the web cams will be pointing in the right direction and that no other ship will be blocking it. The people on my roll call have not been responsive to either the banner wave or a meet and greet, so DH and I may be doing the banner wave alone, but at least we will have the opportunity to sign the banner.

Have a great day.

Warm regards,

Arlene and Lisa,
Unfortunately, or should I say fortunately :D (depends on how you look at it) I will be leaving for Maui on August 4th so will be unavailable to be the official photographer for the WAVE. We go to Maui every August with my 16 yr old step daughter and have for the last 6 yrs for end of summer vacation. We usually go the last week of August but this is the week my DH got this year. I will miss the WAVE on August 4th and August 11th. Sorry. I know you will still have a wonderful cruise. Maybe some other Seattle CCer is available for the WAVE picture for those weeks. :) Wendy

Thanks Lisa,
Yes, we are looking forward to a great Aloha vacation. I know from past posts (few years ago) that you have stayed in Wailea which is where we go every year. Nothing like an early morning run along the path in front of the resorts...you know the one. So beautiful. OK, so the only thing better might be a cruise :D ..... Wendy

Oh Wendy I know exactly the path, I loved it. We walked from the Grand Wailea down to the Fairmont. That is such a great area. I love to snorkle right there with the Honu and out at Molikini. Everytime we have been to Maui we have stayed in Wailea. I really miss Hawaii one of these vacations we need to not cruise and go back but we are on a mission to get our 100 day medallion;)

Hi Wendy:

I hope you enjoy your Hawaiian vacation. DH and I have stayed in the same area in Hawaii and also loved walking the path along the resorts.

Hello Arlene,
Ipoder here! I didn't know you were planning a banner wave or a meet and greet! That's what I get for not checking the CC site often enough. I'm sure some of our party of nine would enjoy meeting for a wave and perhaps the meet and greet as well. We are planning a gathering on our balcony for our family members as we sail away so I don't know if the wave or meet and greet would interfer with that. Otherwise we will join you. Just let us know where.

Thanks Arlene,
I am sorry to miss your WAVE but know you will have a wonderful cruise. Yes, I too love Wailea. Very beautiful. The scenery along the path is a great distraction. You almost don't realize that your working out:) .

Wendy, have a WONDERFUL vacation in Hawaii. While I have gone all around the world, that is one place that is still on my list to get to. Hope you have a wonderful time.

We will "see" you next week from the wave on deck 5! Thanks again for making the extra effort to come out and take pics -- couldn't do it without you!

Peter, next week looks to be a great day in the weather forecast. Much better than the weather in Seattle today. You should have a great sail away on the Oosterdam.

Lisa...shouldn't you be packing?:)

Yeah, Lisa -- are you packing yet --

We are in the midst of it today. Got Cameron a new suit, since the "O" doesn't have child tux rentals -- he wanted to wear a tux like his old man - we should be quite a sight. I know that everyone doesn't dress up as much anymore, but we just can't help ourselves.

My DH loves his tux and we love to dress up too. If we ever take our godson with us I will want to dress him up as well. Have a great time. Maybe you will still get some people for the banner wave.

We are hoping for between 8 and 11 folks for the banner wave next weekend based on everyone I have contacted. Plus, Werin will be the first dog in the wave (service dog that is) - so a big "reach out" to everyone to tune in next week for our send off.

Yes, I am packing if you count picking up Rain Ponchos at Wal Mart packing:D Actually the luggage will come out this evening. We just purchased new luggage so I need to take all the tags off. We did go to Barnes and Noble last night, we decided we needed some new books to read on the cruise.
Tomorrow afternoon I will go thru the closet and figure out exactly what I am packing, what is good is that you can bet what I am packing for Alaska is not something I will be needing and wearing here in Hot Las Vegas the next week.;)

Peter that is so neat that Werin will be at the Wave:)

Great Lisa! Yeah we have to finish up tonight and tomorrow as we leave on Wednesday and spend a few days in Seattle and Victoria before the big day.

If I don't have the chance to "chat" again -- have a WONDERFUL trip. We will try to leave the ports in the state that we found them in, so that you can enjoy them the next day

P.S. I should have jumped back in on your post about your upgrade. Couldn't believe some of the back and forth - on something so innocuous as wishing for an upgrade. We completely understood your position and thoughts. If an upgrade makes your day and makes you happy -- I hope that there is a last minute one available just for YOU.:) :) :)

Yes, it was and still is very wet here in Seattle. I went for a hike with some gal friends today and it was OK in the morning but by noon it was down right nasty. Wet and muddy we headed out of the woods and to a nice little bar for food and beer. What? We needed to warm up after our hike:D . Like one of the girls said, "burned 500 calories on the hike.....consumed 3000 with the burger and beer". LOL! Anyway, it really was a wet one today.

Lisa,
Let's hope that forcast holds. It can change a lot around here but I will keep an eye on the forcast and let you know. Also, just so you know....we had dinner at the Fairmont in the Georgian Room on Thursday and had an outstanding dinner and the service was the best. Pricey, but worth it. No view but a very elegant dining room. In case you wanted to know.

Peter,
Thank you. I will have a nice vacation. You do the same. I will see you from behind the lens next Saturday for the WAVE picture.

I'm excited for both of you. I love the cruising Alaska.

Hi:

If we can get enough people interested, I will be happy to arrange the meet and greet, but so far it is just your group and my DH and I.

We may not be able to arrange the banner wave because the gal, Wendy, who usually takes the photos of the banner wave and posts them on CC will be in Hawaii. We probably can still do the banner wave, but I don't know if anyone will see us.

Regards,
