It is a little over 4 weeks until our Mariner SB Alaska cruise. Any recommendations on making reservations for the alternative restaurants- such as which would be the best/worst nights to pick?
Thanks,
Kathy

You must be so excited that your cruise is getting so close. We have not been on the Mariner but have been on the Voyager, Navigator and PG. I believe the Mariner has the same restaurants as the Voyager. Here's what we do for reservations on a 7 night cruise:
Day 1 -- (when the ship leaves) -- if you don't think you'll be too tired, make a reservation for the first night. Latitudes would be nice.
Day 2 -- this is the Captain's welcome, etc. -- particularly good food in Compass Rose -- we prefer eating in Compass Rose that night (and order double portions of lobster)
Day 3, 4, 5, -- eat where ever you want -- good night for reservation restaurants.
Day 6 -- Even though "tomorrow" is technically the last night, many people are packing, etc. -- so, this is kind of the farewell meal -- lobster and great food again (note: the food is always great -- it's just a tiny bit better on nights 2 and 6).
Day 7 -- Any place you want:-)
Have a great trip!
