We're thinking of booking the Eurodam, July 15, 2008, sailing of Northern Europe. We've only cruised on the Volendam. Can previous passengers give us the scoop on this new ship and thoughts on the itinerary? We have cruised with HAL, RCCL, Princess and NCL. We liked HAL the best, but the cost of this cruise (balcony) is pretty expensive. Please help us decide.

Northern Europe is very expensive, and seems to be more so for 2008. IIRC, that sailing visits the Baltic. That's a wonderful itinerary, full of history and beautiful places.
If you'll search for Eurodam you will find a number of threads discussing the new ship. She's apparently going to be quite a beauty, and different from other Holland America Line ships.

We're booked on that - and the 10-days before. I'm very excited about the itineary, the ship much less so. We've also sailed before with some of the CCers also going, so that is also a big plus. Northern Europe is pretty expensive, but our TA did get us a good price.
All in all, I'm SO excited about 2-days in St. Petersburg doing a private tour with friends. :D :D :D
