Hello all

We are contemplating depositing our own OBC onto our account - an approximate of what we will, should, might (?) spend later in the year.

I've looked at the onboard gift section and it only goes up to $100 OBC. We could submit the online form a dozen or so times each but that's just a little silly. The printable and faxable order form just has a blank space. I emailed HAL and got a standard response - call one of our reps - and was given a 1800 number to call that of course doesn't work from Oz.

So, has anyone done this before? Our dollar is good against the USD so it's better for us to pre-pay if possible rather than earn a bit of interest and lose half of that to the taxman. And if we can, does anyone have a direct number for HAL apart from the 1800? It'll be on the site but I thought I'd ask as part of the question as a whole.

Thanks as always
Pete

Just a suggestion - but would using Traveler's Checks be an option?
You could purchase them at your convenience prior to your cruise.
Then submit them to the Reception Desk upon your arrival.........

thanks for the suggestion We2Cruise

you've lit the lightbulb. we can get commission free amex t/chqs. I'll investigate but might still see about the deposit depending on the responses we get

Of course you can. I did it last cruise and I am doing it for my next one. others do it also, I think Rev Neal does it. In fact he was the one who clued me in on doing this. Although I am doing it in $75 per paycheck amounts. When you check out, you can list multiple $100s, or just down load the pdf and fax the amount you wish to prepay.

For me, it allows me to spread out my payments out over an extended time.
