I know this question has been asked and answered many times, but I am going to ask it again.

We are looking at renting a cabana on Half Moon Cay. Which ones are the best ones to rent? We don't want to be too far down the beach.

When and how do we rent these? Do we do it through HAL or my TA?

Now, tell me about all the nice ammenities that go along with this.

We're looking at renting this cabana when I sail with my friends on the Zuiderdam in March. Any help would be great.

Doone,

We really enjoyed the cabana we rented last year, and we have another one rented this year. Last year we had the pink cabana which was located close to the second snorkle hut. If you check in at the first snorkle hut, they will arrange transportation for you to the cabana, and then when you want to come back, you just let them know, and they will arrange transportation for you. The cabanas come with four chairs, a table, drinks, not sure how many now, as last year it included beer, salsa and chips, and a wonderful fruit and veggie tray. There is a fridge to store the drinks in as well as a ice chest packed with ice. The front area of the cabana has two loungers, and it also has a shower. Last year four floats and snorkle gear were included. You book the cabanas through guests services, and you will need your booking number and your credit card. The price seems to vary, and I paid $179 for four people. I'm sure that others that have been there more recently than I can fill you in on the other details. We really enjoyed our cabana, and we thought it was worth the money.

:)

You can call Ship Services at 1-800-541-1576.

They can give you the lastest price to rent one and what all will come with it. Hopefully they won't change the rules from the time you book a cabana till you actually get to use it.

Sage, Krazy Kruizers, thanks so much for the information. We have 6 people in our party, hope we can get a couple more chairs. If not, we'll make due.

Do we need to make final payment before renting these cabana's or can we do it now?

We would like to be further down the beach than at the snorkel hut, which cabana's are further down?

Doone,

You won't have any trouble finding more chairs or loungers, and if you do, just ask. I would call now and make your reservation. They used to be only available for the suites first and were booked onboard, but now they are open to everyone, and tend to go quickly. Have you seen the pictures posted on the boards? There is one posting that does a great job showing the locations.

:)

When you call ship services, they will ask for your booking number, ship's name, date of sailing, and your credit card number. It will be charged to your credit card. You won't get anything back from HAL so save your credit card statement when it comes in.

Sage, no I haven't seen the pictures, where are they?

I'll call as soon as we figure out which one we want. We do have a suite on the Zuiderdam, does that help getting one or not anymore??????

:)

Having a suite does not help in reserving a cabana any more. It is first come - first served. Once the cabanas are gone, that's it. That is why so many people who want them are calling ship services and reserving them as soon as they can.

Doone,

I think that you would be very happy with that location. It was very nice when we were there last time. The pink one that we were in last December had an awning that you could pull down so that if you wanted to change, you could do so in the cabana. You will have a wonderful time, and it is so relaxing.

Anyone with a booking number can reserve a cabana. Your credit card will be charged immediately. You can also order more food/drinks if you expect more guests. Here are the photos:
