When booking through a TA should I still be able to view my reservations online at the HAL site?

When you go to "for booked guests" on the HAL website and click on online checkin, (enter your booking number) you will be able to see your cabin # or guarantee, sailing date and ship only. If you booked directly with HAL you'll be able to see your other information.

Sorry to be contrary ... if you go to the "For Booked Guests" then to "View your Booking", the next page clearly states that you can view the booking only if you made your reservation online thru the HAL website. Otherwise, the site suggests you contact your T/A for any info. So, even if you booked directly with HAL on the phone, you cannot view the full details of your reservation.

the website of HAL is a real downer. You are so limited at what you can see--nothing about flights, nothing about pre and post cruise info, any changes in staterooms, etc. etc.
HAL is a great line, but they need a lot of improvement on their website. I have wanted to prebook our excursions, and I can do so, but they don't make it easy. I also want to fill out the preboard info--very difficult or can't be done unless by the agent.

Don't know what site you used but I booked with an online TA and immediately was able to view my reservation on the For Booked Guests webpage after entering my reservation number. I was able to order drink cards, excursions, see my cabin assignment, etc... I booked my own air so that wouldn't be there anyway. While I couldn't make any changes to the reservation online or by phone, everything was clearly there....this was just this past May.

Again....not sure what you are looking at. I was able to easily book and pre-pay for my excursions (and even canceled and changed some before we went) and filled out our pre-board info even before we had final cabin assignments (we were GTY). You might want to go back and try again or ask someone to help you. It was all very easy to use. Sorry you're having such difficulties with it.

Have to agree with SakeDad. What are trying to view?
I don't do as many things as SakeDad does online, but I have booked excursions there without booking the cruise through HAL.
Keep experimenting with the site.....I am sure you will find your way in.:)

I just tried mine now and it has a message saying "immigration info not available right now ...." so they are doing something with their site.

That could be.....they often do maintenance on the weekend. But generally they warn you that they are....didn't see that last night.

As I just went to book shore excursions for a mid-August cruise, the HAL site tells me "Shore excursion space requests are no longer being accepted for this sailing". My goodness, a trip to the Baltics and not one available shore excursion 6 weeks out? Hopefully this is incorrect.

6 weeks before departure is a bit late to book shore excursions on popular cruises..For our Prinsendam trip to the Amazon, we booked our shore excursions as soon as they opened up the site, which was many months in advance..
However, the OB Shore Excursion desk will be able to accommodate you in most cases.. Just get there early in your cruise..Even if they tell you a particular excursion is wait listed you probably will eventually be confirmed..Had that experience when DH didn't want to book a volcano excursion on another ship, but changed his mind on board.. As my friend says, if they have enough people on a wait list, they just add an additional bus..
Hope you enjoy your cruise..:) Betty

Betty, Thank you for your suggestions. I kept trying the shore excursion booking site and after an hour or so excursions DID come up, seemingly with all the excursions still available. The previous poster suggesting maybe they were working on the site was (perhaps) correct. But this was anxiety I really don't need. Yes, next time I'll book earlier!!!!

Clearly, we are dealing with semantics. I said that you cannot view your booking, meaning all the details, including what you've paid and what's due, etc. I made no mention of shore excursions and onboard gifts.
I have been able to log in and see my booking number and complete my immigration/pre-checking info. Also able to buy shore excursions and onboard amenities if I wish to do so. But ... as grannynurse stated, the info available is limited. Go to the "View Your Booking" section of "For Booked Guests" and you will see the verbage I cited in my earlier post.

Ok...thanks for clarifying what you were looking for.
Didn't your TA or HAL send you an e-mail or FAX with your booking details?
I never book directly with HAL, but the different TAs I use always end me an invoice via e-mail.
I guess I am not seeing the need to see all your cruise payment details online.
Perhaps you could contact your agent and have him/her resend it?

Indeed, I have everything I need from HAL thru my T/A. My comments were in response to the OP's question which, I suppose, did not state clearly exactly what he expected to view. I interpreted his inquiry differently from others on this thread. I apologize for the confusions.

No apologies necessary.....this is good back and forth talk that others reading this will know what to expect...or not expect, from the HAL site.
We may actually have helped somebody.:)
