Go on the spa tour and book the thermal suite. When I was in Alaska a full cruise pass was $150 per person for full access to the thallosatherapy pool, saunas, steam rooms and thermal loungers. They limit the number of passes they sell because of the limited space and high demand for the loungers. They are situated in front of floor to ceiling windows and are so relaxing after a day of sightseeing. I fell asleep there a couple times!

Unless you're in a suite, bring binoculars. A must...

A second on the thermal suite -- I bought 4 passes for me and my wife, and my Mom and Dad the very first day -- best gift I have ever given them. We spent the whole week completely relaxed. It's $250 per couple, but the best money we ever spent for a week of relaxation.

Sauna question. Is there a public sauna you can sit in without buying into their gimmick package. I just want to relax and maybe shower there. Steam room too?

I agree with everyone who has sung the praises of ther thermal suite. We just could not figure out how to get one of those beds home with us. You
will love the OOsterdam .

We loved the "O" and hope you do too! Don't be afraid to ask the crew for exactly what you need. I have been seriously dieting and didn't want to backslide too much. The first night I asked the dining room stewart for a relish tray when he brought the bread basket (a tip I read here) and every night after that it arrived without asking. Same with the Windstar Cafe...coffee drinks with skim milk and sugar free syrups - NO PROBLEM. So my hint is if you want something you don't see, just ask and chances are the very accomodating crew will provide!

Also head to the piano bar for sing-alongs -- they are a ball!

I don't really have a "tip", but a recommendation. Unless you really love buffet-style meals, eat breakfast and lunch in the dining room (dinner is a given). Far less crowded, fewer temptations to overindulge, and no hassles with finding a table. You can always cruise through the Lido afterwards for fresh OJ or bread pudding!:p
