We've just been given our cabin numbers for our cruise on the Sun in August. We have been upgraded from Riviera deck to Upper Deck, still with an inside cabin though. I'm a little worried about the motion as our cabin is at the back end of the boat U204. The kids don't travel real well even on land so I am a tad worried.
Can any of you veteran cruisers confirm to a first time cruiser if I am just being silly or should we try for a cabin mid ship.
Thanks guys
:)

We travelled with 3 kids on Upper deck and it was the 13 night cruise. It was a little rough but not to bad.Take phenergan for the kids which helps
Enjoy!

We travelled toward the back on the Star earlier this year with two kids (7 & 9). My daughter can't drive across town withough getting motion sickness - so I was very worried about her. (My son is only marginally better).
Our GP recommended Dramamine Junior (we've always been Phenergan users prior to this). You can get it in liquid or small tablet form and I found it worked FANTASTIC!
You can get Dramamine over the counter at the Chemist. The liquid is in small bottles (much smaller than the Phenergan) - so I took a few with me .... the kids handle the tablets now - which takes up even less room.
I gave it to my children just as we were about to board - then as directed on the pack for the first day and a half. After that I gave my daughter a dose one night when the weather was a bit rough and she was feeling unwell.
We didn't have any problems at all .... which surprised me! (But I was happy about it!!!).
One tip that I would give, particular if you do have kids that suffer from travel sickness. Make sure you give them a dose when you get off the boat!
We had an 1½ drive (after we stopped at my sister's place for coffee before we headed home) when we disembarked. Didn't factor in the 'sea legs' problem when you get back on dry land (the earth moved for all of us for a day or two!!!) My daughter did get sick in the car on the way home!
Next time, I'll dose her up as we get off the ship too!!
I'm sure you'll be fine - worse case, be prepared with plenty of sick bags and a spare change or two of clothes. I think the kids are so excited they tend not to notice the movement as much as us adults do!
Enjoy the cruise!!

I was right down the back, inside on Upper deck on my last cruise with no problems, (it didn't feel much different to being in the middle or right up the front).
Make sure your kids, and yourself for that matter, take the seasick pills before you get on the ship. Maybe one in the morning and then one before boarding. I used Kwells as the don't have any side effects (except a dry mouth for a short time) and they are orange flavoured chewable.
Hope this allays your fears
