Hi cruisers,
Since Didi has done such a wonderful review , I will just add a few extras.

Firstly....everyone putting luggage in at Sydney terminal.. Darling Harbour..remember to have your passport in hand. you can't put luggage on without it. apparently some people were putting cases through with passport inside.....they won't let you on ship without it...
maybe the same is happening now in Brisbane ???

to the people who wanted inserts for scrapbooking..the only thing besides the actual album, was a tropical scrapbooking kit.
the camera shop person, said the pages are standard size that we can obtain locally.

the tropical kit comprised of
8 patten papers
6 sheets of cardstock
1 sheet of cardstock stickers
1 word rub on
1 sheet of rub-bits
1 instruction sheet
I'm not too sure of the price. $19.95 or $29.95.
if anyone wants a kit. I will be back on board in October
let me know before the 28th Sept.

take with you a bottle of sanitizer for your cabin, wipe down everything in sight.
telephone, all surfaces, door handles, complete bathroom.
don't drink the melted ice from the ice bucket.
( I'm not wanting to panic anyone, ) I do it every cruise.
the dreaded Noro Virus is still around. and it can ruin your long awaited holiday.

as I think of things I will add them..

kind regards, Lorraine:) :)

Good advice Lorraine

I take Pineoclean wipes and before they were around i took some old rags and a bottle on pineoclean.

Alan says add to that list

GET A FLU SHOT!! - we are both coughing up a storm here

yes most scrapbooking shops would sell the refills, plus there are numerous online shops or even ebay.
the tropical kit is ok but the designs they use are really only for beginners. for any one who has scrapped before you will be disappointed. i kept wanting "my stuff" at home. I could almost set up a shop with disney and cruise stuff i have bought from america.Plus the tropical kit did not really fit a cruise to NZ

good tip also to keep all your papers and passport with you not packed

Must be a new security thing, haven't experienced that before. On previous cruises (2 from Brisbane, 1 from Sydney) we just handed over our luggage to the people at the collection points. Didn't show our passports until checkin.

Hi Skyrules, the last two cruises from Sydney, everyone had to show passport to security at luggage check in.
kind regards, Lorraine:) :)

Hi Lorraine,

I know it may be a stupid question but I know my girls will eat the ice on our coming cruise.
Why cant you drink the melted ice water? Isnt it the same ice as in your drinks?

Thanks for all the advice,

:)

Hi forever dreaming.
As ice. . the propagation of bacteria is reduced.
when the ice melts the temperature increases, and germs , bacteria etc propagate.
so having it as ice in your drinks is O.K. but once it is melted and sitting in the ice bucket I would rather throw it out.

kind regards, Lorraine:) :)

Maybe not so much a security thing. From what Lorraine said, maybe they got fed up of people checking in & realising they'd packed their passports & had to go looking for their luggage to retrieve them. By showing passports when dropping off luggage, they know they're not packed.
