I have never sailed on Holland America. Can someone please tell me is there a Thalassotherapy Pool on the Ryndam? If so is it available at no cost or is there an additional cost? I really enjoyed the one on Celebrity's Millennium. It really soothed my aching bones.
Thanks for your help.

There is one on the Ryndam -- not free. Unfortunately is not a big one like on the Vista class ships of HAL.. This was added during one of her upgrades (dry docks) and it is nothing more than a hot tub similar to those by the Lido pool.

With regard to the Thalassotherapy Pool.. Where on the ship is it and how much does it cost?

At the risk of sounding idiotic and ignorant...what the heck is a thalassatherepy pool?

MSammy,
It is a pool of warm, close to body temperature sea water that has many jets along the sides of the pool and an area where one can stretch out and lounge within the pool, supported by some metal bars, while these jets bathe your body. Within the middle of the pool is an active juccuzi type pool as well as an area that has two large spigots that one can activate to rain down a stream of water on one's upper back and neck. Like a water massage, really. The area around the pool is seclued, because it is part of the Greenhouse Spa, and it is a really delightful area for relaxation. Loungers and towels, along with fruit and water are available. Many use the pool prior to going to a spa treatment. One can use the pool without booking a spa appointment. (The pool is, though, an extra charge.)

Do you remember was it a charge for using it by the week, day, or were you charged for each entrance? Did the charge include using the heated chairs?
On the Millennium their was no charge.

I don't recall the charge for certain. I think it was $15/day and you could come and go all day long for that amount. I think there is a weekly package available along with one that includes all the Greenhouse Spa facilities.

The one on the Ryndam is the size of one of the whirl pools. The price seems to differe by ship. Some have reported that it is $15 for the day and others have said that it is $20 per day.
