Thank you so much for the wealth of information here! I've clipped and pasted tons of notes to go over very carefully real soon. I also want to go to the bookstore to browse books about the Bahamas and see if there are any that would be worth purchasing. We'll be taking our very first cruise on the Carnival Triumph next October. I have a few questions...
First of all, what is the weather typically like in mid/late-October? Temperature, humidity, precipitation, etc.?
My husband and I are in our late 30's. We really enjoy museums, zoos, aquariums, architecture, history, dining, movies, and things of that nature. From what we've read so far, both Atlantis and Blue Lagoon really appeal to us. We still aren't sure about the straw market. We were really looking forward to our first foreign shopping experience, but I don't think we would like being badgered one little bit! We definitely want to stop at the rum cake place and I HAVE to have some Bahamian seafood...especially conch fritters!
So, that said, we would like to figure out what we have time for and how to go about it all! The ship is scheduled to arrive at Nassau at 7 a.m. Friday and debark at 2 a.m. (LATE that night!). Would we have time for both Atlantis and Blue Lagoon? We love the idea of lazing in the hammocks! I read it is risky to do Blue Lagoon on our own, but I'm pretty sure that's the only way we could do it and hit all the other places too. What is the most affordable way to see EVERYTHING at Atlantis...so if we could do the beach there, maybe we would not miss out as much on the Blue Lagoon experience? We would be so disappointed if we didn't get to stroll all the grounds to view everything there anyway. We were also wondering what the menu pricing is at the Great Hall of Waters dining room is? (And please don't forget our stop for the rum cakes and the seafood!)
Any suggested itenerary would be appreciated beyond words! Thank you so much in advance!
