Hi gilew,
Coffee is available 24/7, breakfast orders can be delivered at 6 am. Depending on the itinerary and the daily schedule you may be able to order breakfast earlier.

You check off half hour time slots for your breakfast delivery starting with 6 am. We were on the Zuiderdam recently and breakfast was delivered always within 5 minutes of the start of the checked period.:) :D :D :o

I've never seen earlier than 6 AM..........
The wife LOVES room service on port days. Since it takes a while for her to 'wake up' and 'get fixed up', we can actually have breakfast before we depart..............:)

The earliest window on the breakfast doorknob card is 6:00-6:30. (Just checked our "records":) )
If one wants a burger or club sandwich at 4:30 A.M., room service is 24/7, but I have not personally tested that option.
Cheers
Mark

Remember as well, that even if you use the card for breakfast and stick it outside your door, you can order other items as long as you write them on the card. I always start my day with a bagel and salmon along with my coffee.

I think I was too overwhelmed on my last cruise (and first) to think of ordering room service for breakfast but I'll be taking advantage of it for sure on my December cruise, even if it's just for a carafe of coffee, which I can enjoy in the early morning hours out on "my" deck, outside cabin 7086. :)

I've never been a morning person but on that first cruise, I found myself waking up at 5:30-6am every day. I would go all the way up to the lido, get a cup, then make my way out on deck to enjoy the warm air and sunrises. Oh well, only 135 days to go...*sigh*

Welcome to the CruiseCritic board.

But please disable your "Caps Lock" option. In cyberspace, it looks like you're screaming or yelling. Thanks :)

It is nice to have a carafe of coffee delivered to your room in the morning...you should definitely take advantage of the room service next time.

But...why did you go all the way to the Lido just for coffee? Isn't room 7086 a suite with access to the Neptune Lounge? You can just head down the hall for your coffee fix...I did that several times. We were in room 7067!

Oh My! I didn't mean to be screaming or yelling! I just tend to be a bit expressive! :D

Hey.... A girl's gotta have her vices! LOL

Believe it or not...I don't even like Starbucks. Give me just a regular French Roast Coffee! Of course it has to have cream and sugar in it! OK...so I drink too much caffeine and add sugar to boot....guess we gotta all have some bad habits! :D

I may have inadvertently confused you in my original post....it was during my Cruise on the Westerdam that I ran up to the lido for coffee. In December I'll be aboard the Volendam for 10 days and I have cabin 7086 booked. While it is on the Navigation deck, it's an inside cabin but has a special feature. ;)

Well...sometimes it doesn't take much for me to be confused! LOL

But I would definitely recommend you take advantage of room service for your morning coffee....Even if I don't order room service breakfast, I do like some coffee first thing! You should see how confused I am before my first cup of coffee!!! :D

We were on the Westerdam and had breakfast delivered ay 6:00am each morning that was not a sea day (which was 7 out of 9 days). We usually were off the ship by 8:00am (7:45 pickup in Liverno, Mallorca was later at 10:00am) as the Western Med is very port intensive. This way our breakfast was on time and we did not worry about over sleeping. We still had time to go to the gym and shower after the delivery...

Btw, Achmad in the Dinning room said we coud order anything off of the dinning room menu 24 x 7, so you could have coffee at 4:00am if that is what you wanted.

Well, if you were in the Western Med and trying to get from Liverno to Florence you would have to eat that early or skip breakfast. So, it really depends on where you are and what type of cruise.

I would skip breakfast! LOL
Coffee would sustain me until I got to all that great food in Florence! :)

I always like to have the coffee delivered around 6am so that I can enjoy sunrise on the balcony before getting ready to start the day. After all, for me it is vacation and I like to enjoy my morning without having to hurry up and get going. Although it has been 3 years since we cruised, one thing I remember about ordering coffee for 6am is that even though we only checked coffee, the tray ALWAYS came with some type of danish and sometimes juice. I guess they thought if we were up that early we must need something to go with our coffee. I wonder if they still do that....

Doesn't sound all bad to me. :D

Everyone enjoys their vacation Their Way.

What a nice touch they brought a plate of danish to go with your coffee. :) It's that sort of thing that makes cruising HAL so special IMO

I couldn't agree more sail7seas. Since I am up at 5am everyday when working, 6am is like sleeping in. :D Also, on the rare morning when I do sleep in, the carafe keeps it nice an warm until I am ready. And that is why after 3 years of not being able to cruise, now that we can, we are returning to HAL. I am counting the days until December!!!
