im going to akureyri in iceland in september and am doing the godafoss & akureyri ships tour which is 3 hours long from 8.30 am till 11.30 am. my question is i know there is an all year round christmas shop in akureyri somewhere and i was keen to know if anyone has ever been to it and if its easy to get to on your own. any help is greatly appreciated. sorry if im posting in the wrong place i have tried doing searches but could find nothing.

Would you mind telling me which ship you will be on? We are considering a cruise which includes Iceland. I am not sure which board I would find this on either. Yours is the first post I've seen that mentions Iceland. Hope someone else finds your post and can help.

hi leigh, im on the grand princess 2nd september transatlantic to new york. going from southampton via iceland and greenland, its not easy to find info on these boards for iceland i wish you luck:) regards anita.

We took a ship's tour that included a stop at "Santa's Workshop" or something. The place was well away from town. My six year old daughter declared it a rip off. Santa was not there.

Fellow cruisers were lining up to buy stuff, but we are not shoppers and do not like shopping opportunities on tours. I like to watch the tour guide get her kickback at the end of the stop.
