I was very curious as to why the S class ships do not do Tracy Arm on their round trip cruises as do the Volendam/Zaandam? It isn't that there are other ships in there when the Veendam is in the vicinity......or that my cruise is in September, the Volendam/ Zaandam go there then.
The time is also fine.....The Veendam gets to Juneau at 2:00 and the others get there at 2:30. That can't be it.
Any ideas?

I have been researching for August 2005 and have been comparing the itineraries/ships. I was surprised to see such a range of routes and it really requires careful planning. Maybe some areas/routes are too congested with all the ships sailing in Alaska?

I think that Tracy Arm is visited only by HAL ships who do the "Inside Passage" cruises out of Vancouver. Right now only the Volendam and Zaandam are doing the "Inside Passage" The Statendam, Veendam and Ryndam are doing "Alaska Discovery" and are traveling between Vancouver and Seward and Seward and Vancouver. The Amsterdam and Oosterdam are doing the Alaska Explorer cruises which are round trips out of Seattle

That is true BUT.........The Veendam and the Statendam are doing roundtrips in September with very similar routing as Volendam/Zaandam. And they all have about the same Juneau arrival time (2:00 or 2:30). I also checked a website that told me there are NO ships in Tracy Arm those days.
Very puzzled.
