Has anyone received any information on shipboard credit for 2005 sailings? If so, what is the promo number and how much did you get? There seems to be conflicting information out there and most everything I have seen has been for 2004. Thanks!

I learned of promo 267 the other day. It will supposedly get me $100 pp shipboard credit on an SS on the Zuiderdam, but I'm sure it can be used for a lot more than that. I'm waiting to hear back from my TA this afternoon.

Keep in mind I called HAL to get some info and they made it as clear as mud. They said that it's available to some travel agents for some cruises. However, whether you're eligible is dependent upon the price level paid. I'm sure that everyone on this board should be able to figure out whether they're eligible from that description.

We are still waiting to hear (and see) if the 3rd/4th pax for $199 will be extended to any of the 2005 sailings (keeping our fingers crossed!) - I have not heard of any other 2005 promos yet...

We Just Booked A 1/2/05 Cruise, And Was Told That We Get A $50 Per Person Shipboard Credit.:d The Code Is 7031

Apparently HAL is making this difficult, they ran my TA around on 7031, saying it's only applicable on 2004 cruises, not 2005.

I've not had an answer on Promo 267, though it very well could be an only *********** thing, it's unclear. For $600 in shipboad credits total, I will investigate it further !

I'm still waiting to hear from my TA regarding switching rooms and promo 267.

Right now I'm not very happy. Called her on Monday, left a voice mail and never heard back.

Called her on Tuesday and got her on the phone. I informed her that on their website the price of the cabins went down. I wanted to get the price reduction for two rooms, and rebook two of them as SS cabins. This seemed to cause her much confusion, and she put me on hold a couple of times in order to speak to someone. Eventually we got disconnected. Not sure whether it was an accident. Called back immediately, as well as four hours later and got her voice mail both times.

Called and left a message today with what I specifically wanted to do, including cabin numbers. Didn't hear from her so I called and spoke with the receptionist to see if she's in. She was and the receptionist spoke to her and told me she was handling a booking and would call me later. That was 3 hours ago.

If I don't hear from her tonight I am going to call in the AM and speak directly with her supervisor.

I received $75 per person shipboard credit for my Volendam cruise because I booked the Volendam while still onboard the Rotterdam. I got no shipboard credit for the Zuiderdam cruise as I booked this a few months later, separately.

Have e-mailed our TA and asked her to enquire if we are eligible for the credit of $100 on the promo 267. Will let you know what the answer is as soon as I get one, good or bad.

Hi Toad - We booked a January 2005 Volendam today using promo 267 for $50/pp shipboard credit. Didn't seem to be a problem. We booked a CAT A minisuite - don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Orcrone - I owe this credit to you. Thank you so much for posting this info. I hope that you get your own cruise straightened out soon. It's probably a lot easier to get the credit at the time of booking then to receive it after.

Orcrone - I owe this credit to you. Thank you so much for posting this info.Well, I'll be cruising on the Maasdam on 10/30. Just tell them to put it on my account.:D Just kidding. Spend it on something enjoyable.

I hope that you get your own cruise straightened out soon. It's probably a lot easier to get the credit at the time of booking then to receive it after. My TA called at 6:30 this evening, 10 minutes before I got home from work. She said she'll call me first thing in the AM.

BLStokes and others. I wrote my internet TA at bpc and she said that there was nothing available. I just finished writing directly to HAL and see if that helps.

I called HAL directly re: code 7031 and just asked if it is available for the Westerdam 1/9/05 sailing. I didn't tell them that I already had a booking. I was told that for that cruise in a SS cabin, I could get $50pp.

I asked about promo 267 and the rep would not give me any information without a travel agent number - He said that it is only available through a TA.

I called my TA on Monday and was told that they would call HAL to find out the best deal they could get and would call right back. Didn't hear from them. Called back at about 4:30 their time and asked status. They placed me on hold, called HAL, and came back and told me that they had to fax a request to HAL for a list of all the promotions and would call me back Tuesday. I didn't hear anything Tuesday, so I called them at about 4:30 their time again and they said that the girl I spoke to Monday was already gone, so I spoke to someone else and she promised to have it straightened out by Thursday. So...hopefully, tomorrow, I'll know the best deal that I can get....and I'm going to ask if they can possibly forward me a copy of that list of promotions....very unlikely that they will, but if they do, I'll post it here.

Toad - I have booked several cruises with bpc. I have found you need to be persistent...nicely, of course :). Once they find out you know what you are talking about, they cooperate :). If you find out your sailing is eligible, definitely push it. Some of these internet companies, just want to book you and then be done with you.

I asked my TA to check out promo 267 for the Nov. 26, 2005 cruise and she reported back to me that the credit of $100 applies only to categories A, B, and C. and also a 2 category upgrade on outside cabins. Does not apply the inside main cabin we booked. O well, we will still be cruising. Life is good.

We have some cabins "on hold" for the Volendam 3/20/05 sailing. We were told $100 pp for category A, B and $50 pp for the inside I (for our kids). I don't know what the promo was, but I can find out from my TA - it may even just be from our TA - as I haven't seen any HAL promos for 2005.

Since I booked two cabins a minisuite and a delux suite I would think that this applies to us... now I just need to keep hounding bpc and hope that they come through...... I did write directly to HAL

Gizmo, Thanks for the site!

Toad - I am not sure if HAL will work with you since you have a TA. My suggestion(since I have worked with bpc's before, and have had similar issues, but it pertained to a rate reduction before final payment)...be persistent. Tell them you know for a fact this applies to your sailing(if you in fact do),nicely, of course :), that other's you know have gotten the credit, blah, blah, blah.
After that you will probably get an email that says "Oh yes, we found it does"...duh, LOL....good luck.

I have booked two Cabins for February 4, 2005 10 day Southern Caribbean. One a minisuitea and the other a delux Suite so I would think that this should apply to me! I have rewritten my agent at bpc, and HAL directly, but am still waiting to hear from either one. Thanks for all the advise! Is it possible that because of the good deal we got, no shipboard credit will be offered?

Finally heard from my TA today....Verified that both promos 7031 and 267 were good for the 1/9/05 Westerdam (7-day E. Caribbean) sailing for a SS stateroom. Both promos would get $50pp shipboard credit, but could not combine both to get $100pp. She used 267 to get our $50pp applied.

Sorry....I wasn't able to get a list of promos. :( Figures.

BTW, my TA is not *********** - as someone previously indicated that this may only be available through ***********.

If you are having problems and want to know which agent I am using, let me know.

Most of these promotions are inventory controlled. Promo 267 pops up from time to time and is usually for specific travel agencies. Different agencies are given different promotions. Also, agencies that belong to certain marketing groups may receive different promotions. The current 267 promotion requires that a cruise booking be made between June 1 and August 31, 2004. If you booked your cruise prior to June 1 and are not under penalty with Holland America they will honor the promotion rather than have you cancel and rebook the cruise. 267 does not apply to inside cabins booked and offers a two category upgrade on outside cabins up to category "C". Verandah cabins are not offered an upgrade but are offered an onboard credit.

731 & 732 (mariners) have been around for some time. Ask if your agency is a member of vacation.com. Many times vacation.com agencies have better pricing, upgrades and onboard credits built in to their cruise offers.

Good news. We also received promo 267 for our Oct. 22, 05 aboard Oosterdam Mexican Riveria in an S suite from our online TA. We also saved $$$ booking thru this agent. Anyone that is concerned about service from an online agency, let me share that we have had the best of customer service from the TA. This TA is located in Florida and was greatly affected by Huricane Frances and all that followed, today after not hearing from her (understandably), she emailed us with the info on prom 267. I CALL THAT FIRST CLASS SERVICE!

About 1 hr ago, I just booked the Volendam for a 10 day Caribbean cruise for 4/9/05.
The promo 267 is a 1-3 category upgrade or up to $200 shipboard credit dependent on what category that you book.
I booked a "G" category - upgraded to an "F" category (standard outside cabin).
No shipboard credit unless you go to a minisuite or above on Volendam. The "Z" class ships have differing offers under this promo.

There is a separate MasterCard promotion that if you book and pay the entire balance by 9/30/04 your TA can send you a form for a $50 MasterCard gift card.

Steve, do you know if this Master Card Promo is for $50.00 pp or $50.00 per cabin? If it's pp it might be worth it to pay our 08/05 cruise in full. Every little bit saved goes for Spa Treatments ( an agreement I worked out with my "Wonderful Husband"). Thanks for all the useful information.

I knew nothing of shipboard credits until visiting this board. This weekend I bugged my TA who told me there were no credits available for my cruise (Amsterdam 11-28-04.) I persisted and had her call HAL who confirmed there were no credits for that itinerary. I offered to stay on hold while she checked 7031, 7032 and 7035 (I'd seen all three numbers bandied about but didn't make note of which ones might apply.)

She came back with $150 per person for 7031. Yaay!
