We received luggage tags on page 5 of our e-docs. Are we supposed to print them and affix them to our checked bags? Or must we still get tags from the porters on the pier when we arrive?

On other cruise lines, we have printed them, stapled them to the handles of our checked bags and gave them to the pier porters?

Other posts have mentioned that just the information is required from page 5by the porters. (Name/Stateroom/Quadrant). Then they will fill out tags for you. If you want to lend them a hand - copying and enlarging them may help speed up the process a bit.

Awaiting a definitive answer to the question- if I print my E-doc luggage tags and staple them to the handles of my checked bags, do I still have to get a luggage tag from the porters on the pier?

My edocs say, on the Ship Baggage Tag page (page 5): "Ship baggage tags are available from our porters at the pier. To assist you in filling in the required baggage tag information upon your arrival at the pier, please copy from the information provided below." So, you simply copy the info on the blank baggage tags that the porters will have.

My definitive answer is: Don't make your own tags from your e-docs. Show that page to your porter at the pier and he will fill out and attach proper tags to your suitcases. The ship only holds about 700 passengers, there should not be huge crowds at check-in. The porter has done this many times by now and knows the drill. The tags will be sturdier and more apt to stay attached to the bags. No one's hands will be snagged by the ends of wayward staples.

This is what we did on our cruise in June - it took only a few extra seconds, and it worked perfectly.

I will follow the advice above and have the pier porters affix the luggage tags with the information provided on page 5 of my E-docs. The confusion resulted in that the printed E-docs are similar to those provided by other cruise lines that had requested they be printed and affixed to our luggage.

We got the luggage tags with our docs, but changed rooms after they arrived. Azamara will not issue new tags. I can understand if they cannot send the preprinted tags, but they will not even send blanks.

We got the ship transfers from the airlines to the ship. I thought once we got on the bus we would not see our luggage any more until it gets to the room. Do we get our luggage when we get off the transfer bus so that the porter can tag it correctly?

We have changed rooms after we received our docs. All we did was take a big black magic marker and put on our new room number and floor.

Also -- if some of you are dealing with E-Docs you may want to talk to your travel agent. Mine tells me that they are given a supply of blanks ones which they can print and send to you. Now -- the question is -- will your travel agent go the extra step for you.

I can sympathise - every cruise line seems to do things differently! I like Azamara's approach because I didn't want to have to print the tags and find a way to keep them attached. Regular paper is so easy to tear that they would have no hope at all.

I hope you have a great cruise.:)

I will have to check with the travel agent. If not, we will do the magic marker change.

I guess I am just used to the importance of "presentation" and I don't think it is too much to ask, especially for the extra $$$ we spent to upgrade, for them to send new tags out (even if they are blanks.)

I did check with our TA, who then checked with her Celebrity rep. He said he is going to get an entire set of documents issued for me, which is more than I asked for. He seemed pretty sure that it would be done.

BTW he just got back from his 2nd Azamara cruise and said that we will love it. Can't wait!

When we had e-docs with cruise line transfer at the airport (I think it was Celebrity), there was a cruiseline rep at baggage claim with the luggage tags. So we were able to tag the luggage before it went on the bus.
