Can you buy alcohol in the ship duty free and take it to your cabin.
Does anyone know flight times to Palma from East Midlands or Stansted.
Thanks

If you buy alcohol onboard to drink in your cabin they usually charge a "corkage" charge.
Official note:
The on-board shops stock a range of spirits that can be purchased at duty free prices. A small charge will be applied to bottles purchased for consumption in your cabin – please note that drinks purchased in the shops cannot be consumed in the ship’s bars.
Please be aware that alcohol bought ashore may not be brought on board for consumption. We reserve the right to check passenger bags and any alcohol found will be retained by the ship and returned to you at the end of your cruise.
Flights to Palma normally leave early hours 6am-2PM UK time , 2.5hrs flight + 1hr time difference is 9:30 - 17:30 at airport and as it says in the brochure its the furthest stand away, at a brisk pace walking along the travelators the quickest I've done it to the baggage hall is about 10 minutes, normally 20-25 minutes although you still have to wait for your luggage! Then about a 20 minute transfer to the dock.
I'm sure someone who has been on OV2 this year can confirm the flight times, if not I suggest check the airport live departure website on Tuesday for any TCX (Thomas Cook) - or TOM (thomsonfly) going to Palma in the morning! :) Both flights I've done from the midlands have been check-in 7ish for 9AM departure although I know that the Gatwick and Glasgow flights are often later.. Stanstead and EMA are new options this year.

The only figure I've heard bandied about for 'corkage' is £5 - but it may be prudent to e.mail OV and ask how much they charge if you did buy from the duty free shop to consume in your cabin. The corkage wouldn't be too bad if it is spirits, but certainly not worth it for wine.
It seems to be pop luck whether you get alcohol bought ashore confiscated until the end of the cruise or not. Again, if you wanted I'm sure you could pay the corkage.
One way passed all this would be to pack the alcohol in your case and hope it remains intact. My friend who has sailed twice has done this, as she always does stay and cruise, with no problems at all.
We find that we don't drink much when away. One is the heat puts us off and two the itinerary is so busy that you can't afford a hangover!
