HAL menus and Maasdam

Will be on Maasdam in September, but have not been able to find anything on menus,dining or room service. Any comments on menus or Maasdam in general would be appreciated. Thanks...... Getty

Sorry - I didn't save my menus.

But there was a new dish in place of the chicken parmesian. They sliced the chicken in half and in between was proscuitto and mozzarella cheese. I liked it.

Funny...... I was just looking at my set of menus from our June cruise as we prepare to return to Maasdam in two weeks.

There is a definite change in Maasdam's menus from last year. They now bunch all starters in one category. No longer do they have the three categories: Appetizers, Soups, Salads. They are all grouped under the heading Starters. There are a total of 4 appetizers, one salad, and three soups to choose from. (Caesar Salad is available every night in addition.)

The choices are good and we certainly had no trouble finding things we like but I think many folks did not realize they could order as much from that list as they wished. In a subtle way, perhaps the suggestion could be made by this way of presenting the choices, that one should limit themselves to one selection. Now that I think about it....... Is this perhaps in preparation for AYW? Try to get folks to order fewer courses so they are in and out of the dining room faster? Hmmmm............ The faster folks eat and leave the better turnover they will have for the AYW tables.

Then under Entree category, there are 8 courses but, of course, most people only order one entree. Yes.... I know some folks order two but there aren't that many that do that, I don't think.

I do like that every night, on the bottom of the menu, they have Available Daily that includes French Onion Soup, Caesar Salad, Broiled Wild Salmon and Grilled Chicken Breast.

We thought the food to be very, very good in the dining room. Our meals were served hot (or cold) as appropriate. Plated attractively and very tasty. Cooking preparation was well to our taste. (Always subjective .)

There is plenty of variety on this menu IMO
