We're booked on a cruise next week, and discovered that the hotels in Copenhagen and London aren't quite what we were hoping for. We had our TA call Orient to see if we could upgrade to the better hotels, and they said that they had already given back the "block of rooms" to the hotels involved a couple of weeks ago. So -- no dice!
Anybody have any good ideas on how to accomplish the upgrades now, or should we forget it?

Hi Ed,
which hotel do you have in Copenhagen? I just ask, because we know something about the hotels in Copenhagen. So maybe we could tell you if your hotel is ok. By the way, we were on Marco Polo cruise in July and were very satisfied. The ship is a real cruise ship, the personnel is professional and very polite. All in all it was a very good experience.

We were assigned the Radisson SAS Scandivian hotel, and would prefer the Radisson SAS Royal hotel, based on the many comments on sites like Trip Advisor. It naturally costs more, but the upgrade cost didn't seem that bad, considering its location, etc.

Three years ago we were at the SAS Scandinavian Hotel and enjoyed it. There was a beautiful view of a manmade lake. There was not a very long walk to Tivoli Gardens. Service was good, breakfast was good and was very clean. We had to leave very early in the morning for a flight to Sweden back to the states and they packed a breakfast box for us. Very thorough. So if you cannot upgrade I would say don't worry. There were tea making and coffee making services in room. We enjoy walking which some people do not but it was nice. It was not that long of a walk.

We were put up at the SAS Radisson couple of weeks ago (by SAS).
It rated as a 5 star. It was within not strenous walk of Tivoli. The restaurant was fine, both for dinner and breakfast.
True, my wife didn't think it was quite as "cool" as the Kong Arthur, where we stayed a couple of nights. But, the Kong Arthur didn't have it's own restaurants and was a longer walk to town.
Different, yes. Bad, or worse? No way. Relax and enjoy it.

Hi ,
it you have SAS Scandinavia. don´t worry. It is nice and clean hotel. And the service i good. This time we were in SAS Royal, which is near Tivoli. The rooms are very good and clean, service is excellent. Maybe you can still try the change when arriving to the hotel. Find there the Marco Polo representative and ask her is the change is possible. If not, that should not be a problem. There were a lot of people on our cruise who stayed overnight in SAS Scandinavia and they all were vey satisfied. The "tripadvisor" is not always the best place to find correct info, so have we noticed. Have a nice trip with MP!;-))
