Where on earth did you find a cruise that does the Arctic Oceanfrom Alaska? The only ones that I know of are some of the Norway cruises in Europe that go to Tromso and north from there. Please let us in on this, I'd love to go.

I just thought of something, the Statendam does a trans Pacific fro VanCouver to ports in Japan and back in spring and fall. Is the Zaandam also scheduled for this?
Thanks,
GN

Thanks,
GNNot up to Dec 2008 at least. After Alaska it does one Mexican Riviera, then Hawaii r/ts 10/07 to 04/08, then heads back to Alaska until 09/08, then starts doing Hawaii loops again.

Re my post #4: I did find one source that says oceanographers may sometimes call the Artic Ocean the Arctic Sea. Sorry.

John,
Thanks for encouraging me to look at the Atlas again. What I saw was that only above the Arctic circle is it labled Arctic Ocean. On the Pacific side below the Circle it is labled Bering Sea and on the Atlantic side Norwegian Sea, then Greenland Sea, and even north of North Cape, the Barents Sea.

I'm still curious about the OP asking about Zaandam in the Arctic Ocean.
