Convenient Hotels in San Juan

We just booked on the 22 Feb 08, San Juan to St. Thomas voyage. Looking for a good hotel in the old town area, near the cruise terminal. We are only there for one night before the cruise. I have seen Sheraton mentioned. Any others that you would recommend? Thanks.

Il Convento is very nice but they are apparently strict about a 2 day min stay. Also, a short cab ride from the dock. Cant beat Sheraton for convenience.

I agree with Jim - can't beat the distance from the Sheraton - and it is pretty reliable with what it delivers.

We're spending one night in SJ before our cruise in March. The Sheraton was sold out, and El Convento had the two day minimum. Our TA recommended the Holiday Inn San Juan (formerly known as the Racquet Club). It's a 3 star hotel (as is El Convento), and its price is half that of EC. So that's where we're staying.
