Speaking of Hurricane (or Trop Depression) Erin, 'way down south, it reminded me of another Hurricane Erin that I sort of experienced a few years ago on a cruise to New England and Canada.

Back when you could buy an unlimited time package in the Internet Cafe, I was following the path of Hurricane Erin via the NOAA satellite. This was around 2001, I think, maybe the second week of September. We were on the leading edge of it all the way up the NE/C coast, going about the same speed and being slightly buffeted. "Slightly" is a subjective term, depending on whether you spent your earlier days on a boat, as I did, or grew up in the flatlands, as the green-faced people apparently did.

I thought it was just a bit of a roll and some moderate seas; others thought it was The Poseidon Adventure.

Tom, just want you to know that whenever I have a chance to tear myself away from the boards here at CC, I do go visit your blog, Things at King's (http://northfranklin.blogspot.com/), where I can get another dose of your quirky humor and poignant observations :)

Why, thank you. I've managed to post 486 consecutive days (excluding vacations) since starting the blog in April 06. It will be 487 when I get today's done. What will it be about? I don't know; I haven't started yet. I never know until I actually start typing. I can only tell you that it will be 5" in Times New Roman typeface on a Word document, transferred over to the Blogspot site.
