We ate at the Conch Republic Seafood Company Restaurant during our Majesty of the Seas cruise in early August. I had read many suggestions on Cruise Critic and based on everything, we chose this place. I am glad we did because the food was excellent. We all really enjoyed our food, the service was good and the view very nice. We ate on the covered patio on the end where the misters were going. It was hot out that day, but the misting made it tolerable.

My DH really loved his entree - the encrusted tuna nuggets on a salad. It was a special of the day. He even told the waitress to complement the chef, and he rarely does that! I had the steak caesar wrap. It may have been a daily special too. It was very good. My DDs shared a friend shrimp platter with rice. They ate that up! The shrimps were nice and plump. My mom got the fish and chips. I think the fish was grouper.

The entrees are on the slightly expensive side for lunch. For example, DDs shrimp platter cost around $18. But they were able to share it. Mom and I got more lunched price entrees. I don't recall how much DH's tuna entree cost because it was a special of the day and therefore not on the menu. She just told them to us and I don't recall the price.

We were all very happy with our meal and would recommend this restaurant.

Here are some pictures to help with visualization.

Thanks so much for the review! It is really nice when someone takes the time to let us hear their personal findings.

That is good news on the kitchen of CRSF. They had a very rocky start as far as food and the last time I was there was over two years ago. They just could not manage to serve up a palatable plate of food but have always done pretty well in the cocktail dept.

I will make it a point to eat there soon.

My three favorite places in this area, the Key West Bight or Historic Walk, are Alonzo's, the Conch Republic (which those in the know call the Conch Farm) and the Half Shell Raw Bar. I usually have a blackened catch-of-the-day sandwich at the Conch Farm (usually grouper) but the shrimp or oysters are good here, too.

The Conch Republic is one of my favorites, but they've done away with my two favorite dishes; the Banana Glazed Chicken and the Mango Pork Medallions.

I came across my receipt last night for this restaurant.

DH's encrusted tuna on a bed of salad was $11.99
My steak caesar wrap was $10.99
My mom's fish and chips was $9.99

As I mentioned in the post above, my DDs shared a fried shrimp meal that was $18.99

Hope that helps!

Bhopal21, not to hijack the thread, but tell me about your greyhound. I have three, and am always on the lookout for other grey people. :)

Zydeco, (fka L's Rembrandt) is 3 and our second rescue. We got him from Southeastern Greyhound Adoption. Our first baby was known as Ebro (fka PDQ Ray Charles) and we had him for nine short years.

Both have been nothing but pleasure.

They are greyt dogs. Are you on Greytalk? Ebro sounds familiar. I have three. Mandy (Dandy Lady), 11 1/2, beautiful brindle princess, Mack (M's Mainliner), 8, fawn prince extraordinaire, and Charlie (Cloud Dance) 6, white w/black ticking, goofy boy. We adopted through Greyhound Rescue, in WV. I am jeannejj on greytalk.

Anyway, probably known now as a grey stalker..:)

Happy Cruising. :D

OKAY, ENOUGH WITH THE DOGS!!!!

I went to Key West back in May 2006, and I found the Conch Republic was nothing special at all! We had the Conch fritters, and they nothing to rave about! I think we had crab cakes too, but they again were nothing special!! However, we did enjoy our seats since they looked right out onto the ocean!

Our 3 favorite restaurants in Key West were 1. El Meson de Pepe--Great Cuban food. 2.--The outdoor restaurant at the Hyatt Key West Resort & Marina--They had a great Mahi-Mahi sandwich that we still talk about. Finally, 3.--Seven Fish--You'll have to look up where it's located, but it's a tiny little restaurant and we had a great meal there--I think we had gnochhi with fish--My wife still raves about that restaurant!

Though the atmosphere at the Conch Republic is tempting, we found other restaurants that still offered great atmosphere and better food!
