We're booked on Quest in January MIA to ACA. Do you think a 1215 airline departure is a good plan? Do we have enough time to do the whole airline aggravation thing? Thanks. PENNY

Hi Laura,
The name of the restaurant is Su Casa it is right above the convention center in the middle of downtown Acapulco...Her name is Shelley Herrera..we are best friends and she is a born and raised California girl..
She told me to say that anyone that mentions my name gets a complimentary Marguerita..so have a great time!!

I'm really excited about this cruise, but thrilled
we'll be spending time in Acapulco post-cruise.
It's funny, we started off planning on a one-week cruise to
Mexico, and it's turned into an 18 day trip -- the longer the better!
Can't wait for the margaritas, ceviche...and all the
great seafood.

Hi,
We are on the Quest 3/1/08 Miami to Acapulco Panama Canal cruise. We have booked a 1:40 pm flight back to the East Coast. I'm assuming that will leave us enough time. It will be interesting to hear from people who do this cruise before us to tell us about timing from dock to airport.
I truly wish we were staying in Acapulco rather than coming straight home.

Jan,
Thanks for the restaurant suggestion. We'll be sure to take our group there while in acapulco. We are on the 2-2-08 aca to mia quest and are going three days ahead to visit and make sure with winter weather we have time to recover if airlines screw us over.
Do you by any chance have a suggestion on hotels for our three nights.
:)
Thanks again for the advice on restaurant.

Yikes, I'm afraid we're running into the Christmas high season.
Princess won't book for the 3 nights, 12/22-12/25. Same with
a few others.
Any ideas would be gratefully received!
I looked up Su Casa. It gets wonderful reviews and looks charming.
We'll be sure to make a rez, maybe for Christmas Eve.
Thanks, Jan

ps. This will be my first time in Acapulco. I know that's a shock especially considering we're in L.A.

Thanks, Jan, you're a peach!
Su Casa sounds absolutely perfect to me for a holiday dinner away from home. I'll call for a rez.
Speaking of Christmas Eve, we're having a Dickens of a time
booking a hotel. I'm sure you know that all the nicer Acapulco properties
are booked solid because of the holiday.
We'll probably have to bite the bullet and dial down our hotel requirements.
Ah well, I can think of worse problems! :D
Thanks again, Jan.

ps. Do you still hear from Mura?

Sorry to have to repeat my question, but . . . . The Quest arrives in ACA at 0700. We have a 1230 flight booked back to the states. Has anyone had any experience that would tell us whether this is a realistic time frame for a departure flight? PENNY:)

We are also on on the Quest sailing of 3/1/08 and do not plan to stay in Acapulco. I have not booked a return flight home yet and am wondering how far the airport is from the cruise dock. Since flying from Mexico to the US is international, we'll have to be at the airport 2 hours before the flight. There are flights at 12:30 and 2:55pm to Houston that connect to Kansas City. Does anyone have experience making a 12:30 flight?

Well, Susiesan, I guess nobody on this thread has been to Acapulco (except for one restaurant). Nor, are they willing to share their ACA transfer experience with us. So, our questions remain unanswered.

Hi Susiesan,
Here's some information I found on the HAL site.
Distances
Alcapulco Airport(ACA) To Ship: 20 miles or about 45 mins by vehicle.
Alcapulco Airport(ACA) To Downtown: 16 miles or about 40 mins
by vehicle.
Here's the link, hope it's helpful.
