View Full Version : Upselling, Who do I ask?

There are so many posts in regard to upselling, we booked through HAL diectly so there is no middle man/woman. With that being said, should I call HAL and ask for the price to upgrade to a better cabin or do I wait for them to contact me. If the answer if the former, please advise as to what department within HAL to ask for when I call.
As usual, I thank you all in advance for your replies.

Didn't you get a Personal Cruise Consultant when you made the reservation? Mine gave me the number 800-355-3017 and his personal extension. I would just call that number and give them your booking number, and they should be able to determine who your PCC is. Or if you received a copy of your Guest Confirmation his/her name should appear in Agency Contact box in the middle of the page.

You can contact your PCC and ask for a quote to upgrade to a better cabin and if they have such a cabin, I am sure they would be delighted to sell it to your for the difference in fare. Or, you can make clear you are eager to discuss an upsell to the cabin category you prefer, at the appropriate time. The upsell offers seem to begin at the 3 week mark before the sail date. When is your cruise?

There are two departments within HAL that book reservations. One is at 800SailHAL. This is a general reservation number which does not give you a specific agent. The number above is to the PCC area which is assigned if requested. If you called the general number you can later call and ask for your reservation to be transferred to a PCC, at which time you will be assigned your contact.

So, to get a good price on a suite, you need to wait until 3 weeks out and see what is left?
There seem to be lots of discounts on lower-priced cabins, sometimes as much as 40-45% off even a year out, but maybe a 5% discount on suites -- if that.
