Will be going to Vietnam on the Spirit in December. Do I have to make any special advance arrangements for a Vietnam entry visa?

Thanks,

LarryHal

I was in Vietnam in June, you do need a visa or they won't let you off the ship. I arrived by air and got a 'visa on arrival', which I think is offered if you arrive by ship. You can also send your passport away to get the visa stamp in advance. If I remember correctly, you should apply for the visa at least 30 days before arriving in Vietnam. You can google vietnam visa, there are a lot of agencies that can help you process one.

Last year, when we arrived in Vietnam on the Spirit, the ship obtained a group visa for everybody. It might be different if you are arriving by air independantly

The visa for Viet Nam were handled by the Spirit staff. Each of us were given our visas individually when we got to Viet Nam. We kept them until we left our final vietnamese port. The cost of the Visa was put on our suite charges.

I read that this is what will be done for the Egyptian visa as well. It's slightly OT, but do you know if the same process is done for Brazil? I understand one is needed for that country.

If you are going to Brazil first and you are entering the country or your staying at the end of the trip you must have one. Also check for your yellow fever shot as well.

If you enter china you need one and if you stay on in china you need one as well.

We are on the same cruise and counting the days! You can purchase your visa onboard (approx $60) and it is charged to your cabin. Couldn't be more convenient.

Not for china. I just got our pre- cruise folder and an application was in there for china. It's not cheap. about 160.00 per person for a single entry.

Perhaps the application you have has a handling fee. The "official" fee is $100 for six months multiple entry.
