After our last cruise was abandoned, my wife and I are pretty much over the Star. So we're now booked on the Island Gem (http://www.pocruises.com.au/html/n735-south-pacific.cfm) cruise on the Sun in November.
By the sounds of things they're a lot more strict with their dress code in the dining room (no shorts allowed), which is pretty much what I wore every day on the Star. Are there any other gotchas we should know about?
Bill.

They are not strict with dress code on the Pacific Sun. I imagine no different to the Star.
Even for formal nights quite a few men only had shirts on. Some not even dress shirts.
I went on the Sun a few months after going on Diamond Princess and compared to that dress was very casual.
Just wear the same things you would have on the Star.

Only a shirt?? Now that would be interesting. Dress standard has definitely dropped!

Hi sayaguru, I know it's only a few months since you were on the Sun but I think the reason the OP may have asked the question is because relate2 (who was on the Sun only 2 weeks ago) made a comment that shorts were not allowed in the dining room at anytime. Maybe things have changed:confused:

Yeah I read that but he also stated after he changed and went back they were allowing people in with shorts on. I guess it was just one staff member.
You can go in in shorts during the day.
