Just called (twice) to the Capt Club trying to get a reservation to the Aqualina on the Quest sailing 10/31. Was told both times they were not taking reservations for the Quest, with no estimated date as to when they would. Anyone else had this experience...Again I am referring to the QUEST, not the Journey

Maybe it's because, technically, the "Quest" doesn't even exist yet.

Hi Bryanjay !

Here are the 2 problems :

1. Are you a Captains Club Member ? If not, you cant book a reservation in advance.

2. If you are a Captains Club Member, you can only book ONE reservation per booking, 60 days in advance. Therefore, you should be able to book on Quest either today or tomorrow. If it is more than 60 days, their computer system will not allow the booking.

I also called Captains Club for Quest, and was often told I could not book. Eventually, a very nice person helped us and took our request. I "hope" my reservations are made for our 10/24 and 10/26 sailings on Quest. I will have to wait and see.

Please let us know what happens. Good luck !

I just called the Captains Club to make a reservation for the October 26 sailing of the Quest for Prime C, and was told that they were not taking reservations yet. I am an elite member of CC, so there shouldn't have been a problem with not being a member. They simply said they didn't know when they would be able to take a reservation for the Quest. Does anyone know if they are in the process of remodeling the ship yet??

Hi Summerchas !

This has been happening quite a bit. Some of the Captains Club staff (for some unknown reason) are simply refusing to take reservations, but others are taking them.

I recommend you call back, and hopefully someone else will make it happen for you. If that doesnt work, ask to speak with a supervisor. Please let us know if have any success.

BTW, I believe that Quest will begin her remodel in Mid-September.

Hi Everyone !

*** NEW UPDATE ***

It appears that even though my reservation was taken by Captains Club earlier this week, nothing happened with it.

I just recieved an email from Captains Club saying the following :

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Sir,

I regret to inform you that we are unable to process your request for specialty dining aboard the Quest at this time. The Specialty Dining options have not been fianlized for Quest as of this date. Please re-submit your request at a later date prior to 7 days of sailing. We apologize for any inconvience this may cause you.

We are looking forward to hearing from you again in the near future.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Needless to say, I am disappointed. I have repeatedly been told that reservations would be accepted 60 days in advance. I did as they asked, and now I am being told something different.

As most of us who have been sailing with Celebrity over the years, I guess I shouldnt be very surprised. At any rate, I will keep trying. When I hear anything further, I will post it here.

To respond to Andy....yes, I am a Capt Club member, and no, I did not have any other reservations at the speciality restaurants on the Quest or any other Celebrity/azamara ships.

Of course, it is possible that they have decided to have different specialty restaurants from those on Journey (or maybe something entirely different). Watch and wait; wait and see.

Hi Everyone,

I too have tried to make reservations for Aqualina and/or Prime C for my 10/24 and 10/26 sailings on the Quest. When I called today (my third call) the Captains Club rep was very apologetic and said that I should call back "every couple of days" to see if they have opened up reservations for the specialty dining. She said that they really don't know when they will have the reservations up and running. I asked what the glitch was but she said that she had no idea.

Excuse my ignorance, but why the rush to get reservations for these resturants? I've never made specialty restuarnt reservations before a sailing and had no trouble getting a reservation once on board. I and a friend are also sailing on the Quest on 10-31.

I called captain's club today for a reservation for the Oct 31 sailing and was told they were not taking them for the Quest. After speaking to a supervisor, who also would not take the reservation, I asked for another person above her; I believe I was then transferred to Azamara and spoke to Tara who said that Captain's club was told to accept reservations for the Quest and she took my reservation request and asked for an e-mail address to have confirmation sent to, we'll see if I do get a confirmation. My suggestion is to try calling Azamara directly.

Hi Luv2bcruzn !

Thanks for the info. I went the exact same route as you (where the reservation was taken) only to be emailed, and told they were not taking reservations at this time.

Obviously, there is total confusion between Captains Club and Azamara. I will try again tonight or tomorrow, and report back. Wish me luck :)

Again, can someone please tell me why the rush to get reservations?

as the original poster, the reason for my 'rush' to get reservations, is that Nov 1 is my partners birthday, and I was hoping to lock down reservations at Aqualina for that night.

Just like any special occassion or planning for an event (which most fail to do until the last minute) some of us like to lock in our reservations early.

For me this includes airfare the day it is posted ( it is usually cheaper and I am done with it), the trip ( if the price drops I simply call and they adjust it ), the accomodations ( I have some favorite accomodations), excursions ( the best sell out quickly ), as well as the resturants, just as someone would do for Christmas, New Years, or any other holiday or special event.

On a ship that accomodates 600 passengers with 2 specialty restaurants and a main diningroom in an open seating situation, I don't want to haved to be forced to eat too early or too late, or to miss out on a venue I'm looking forward to trying.

So I hope that answers your question.

What used to be a relaxed satisfying vacation has become like flying a discount airline. Lots of obnoxious, inconsiderate people, too many children that should (IMHO) NOT be travelling, and exteremely overbooked and crowded.

Dave:eek:
