Thanks for the link. It's an interesting article. We were there last November after not having been to Bermuda since 1987. We noticed the changes on Front Street and were sorry to see some of the stores go. It Front Street has definitely lost much of its charm. We have many fond memories of shopping at Archie Brown's in particular. In fact, my husband still has a couple of the sweaters he got there twenty years ago.

In addition to all the new buildings going up on Front Street, the waterfront dock area will be completely renovated and no cruise ships will be docking there in 2008. According to the proposed plans, a longer diagonal dock will be installed which can accommodate one large cruise ship instead of the current dock which can only berth 2 small cruise ships.
It makes sense since there are few small cruise ships still in service and the one large newer ship would discharge about the same number of passengers as the two older small ships did.
